Judge throws out Trump challenge to Manhattan DA subpoena for tax records

Source: CNBC

President Donald Trump's effort to fight a subpoena for his tax records issued by the Manhattan district attorney was rejected on Thursday by a federal judge in New York, handing another loss to the president in a high-profile case that has already made its way to the Supreme Court.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero said that the president failed to show that the subpoena would pose an unfair burden, siding in favor of Manhattan D.A. Cy Vance, Jr., who has said his office is pursuing an investigation of potential violations of state law.

This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

of an Olympic weight lifter by the time this week is through. Don-the-Con is nearing his Waterloo, and he's running out of roadblocks to prevent it. Once that financial information is made public he's finished. I'd wager that 50% of his die-hard Trump-thumpers will desert him when his financial crimes are made public. Everyone will see what an insane, traitorous, lying piece of scum he really is. His bullshit backstory is going to hell-in-a-handbasket. His ties to Russia will finally be laid bare.

Explicitly allowing him to raise other claims which is what this is. Of course he can appeal denial of those claims. The question will be how long those appeals take.

First, I expect Trump to give Madoff one of his own-the-libs stunt pardons.

But more important, Trump won’t be going where Madoff is. Madoff is currently in the prison hospital at Butner, N.C. When he recovers, he’ll be going back to Butner-Low. Trump is one of the people who has to be in Supermax Florence for his own protection. If they put Trump in a regular prison, he’ll be dead within 24 hours.

in Butner, NC, which is about an hour away from where my permanent residence is. Yeah, it MIGHT be cruel to Bernie but it's certainly a violation of the 8th Amendment rights of ALL NC citizens to have to be associated with news reports that would go something like this, "I'm _____, reporting live from Butner, NC, where former president* tRump, is now being housed in the Federal penitentiary".😂

Here's the Judge Marrero's decision throwing out Trump's challenge to Cy Vance's subpoena of his tax returns.

This is very bad news for Trump.

Your write-up of this decision is useless if it does not include a link to this decision, which is available both here: https://courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.523086/gov.uscourts.nysd.523086.71.0.pdf

and here: https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/7040961/Vance-Order.pdf

if you prefer DocumentCloud for some reason.

Legal matters aside, we should all revel in the glory of footnote 1, which is poetry.

I'll suspect there is something akin to "The Holcroft Covenant" in German bank records. There's some piles of money from somewhere that we don't yet know about and that somebody seems to want to hide from public view.
