New York attorney general sues Trump Organization, revealing state investigation into the companys financial dealings
August 24, 2020 at 1:32 p.m. EDT
The New York Attorney General is investigating President Trumps private business for a allegedly misleading lenders by inflating the value of its assets, the attorney generals office said Monday in a legal filing.
In the filing, signed by a deputy to Attorney General Letitia James, the attorney generals office said it is investigating Trumps use of Statements of Financial Condition documents Trump sent to lenders, summarizing his assets and debts.
The filing asks a New York state judge to compel the Trump Organization to provide information it has been withholding from investigators including a subpoena seeking an interview with the presidents son Eric.
The attorney generals office said began investigating after Trumps former lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, told Congress in February 2019 that Trump had used these statements to inflate his net worth to lenders.

Even were one to accede the immunity in office claim, it is hard to see any sensible argument that would extend to a business enterprise, or to family members....

(758 posts)Is he going for the all-time crimes committed by a Prez record? If so, he's smashed previous records and his legacy will be the most crooked, criminal sack of shit to ever hold that office.
He's like the Cy Young of pres criminals.
His record will be virtually unbreakable.
