Richard Spencer Backs Joe Biden, Says 'MAGA/Alt-Right Moment is Over'
Source: Newsweek
White nationalist Richard Spencer has said he will be backing Democratic candidate Joe Biden in November's election after previously distancing himself from Donald Trump.
Spencer, who was one of the key figureheads of the alt-right movement, tweeted how he is "on Team Joe" on Monday, adding in a self-made campaign slogan, "Liberals are clearly more competent."
...
"The MAGA/Alt-Right moment is over. I made mistakes; Trump is an obvious disaster; but mainly the paradigm contained flaws that we now are able to perceive. And it needs to end," Spencer wrote. "So be patient. We'll have another day in the sun. We need to recover and return in a new form."
...
"I deeply regret voting for and promoting Donald Trump in 2016," Spencer tweeted. "To the people of Iran, there are millions of Americans who do not want war, who do not hate you, and who respect your nation and its history.

Meanwhile Donald Trump fully embraced the endorsement of David Duke and QAnon.

I don't trust ANYTHING he has to say. He was an unapologetic white supremacist, and I cannot believe he's changed his tune at all. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's doing this to try to harm Biden, as this nasty piece of work knows his endorsement is poison.

(8,298 posts)Which can lower turnout for Trump people. There is an enthusiasm gap favoring Trump still -although I don't know exactly how much it matters, I do think that the few leaders among the racists that turn out the racists, the better it will be for the overall result.

(8,298 posts)campaign denouncing them. Regardless of what we think of it, it is a reflection of the overall sentiment against Trump -that he isn't the true Nazi leader they thought he was. The terrifying thing about all this is that person -the one true nazi demogogue that can galvanize broad support, is still out there. Once Biden wins, we need to implement a broad range of limits on the executive branch to reduce the damage that can be done in the future.

(90 posts)Their plans went sideways because they designated someone dumber than themselves as their leader. One of the reasons that groups like his worked in the past is because of it's secrecy. It was the fear of not knowing exactly who the enemy was that worked in keeping people afraid and in line. Once you know who the cowards are, you see that they are a bunch of scared little boys. 45 is the worst of the lot and, to make it worse for this group, he had no idea how to wield his power effectively and talks way to damn much.
They got a hard on for 45 because he said in public what they say in their dungeon meetings and they got just a little too excited by his kindred "spiritness." Unfortunately, they didn't realize what an incompetent dolt he truly is until it was too late. Because of their hubris, lots of individuals have been publicly exposed and personally damaged in some way. That genie cannot be put back in the bottle. This is what happens when you hitch your wagon to the wrong star.
Now, Spencer is trying to infiltrate the Democratic party because he thinks that we'd be so gullible that we'd be happy to have him as a convert. GTFOH! Leopards do not change their spots. He's going to have to do a lot more work on himself before I believe anything that comes out of his mouth. I'd like to think that Charles Barkley dressing him down changed his way of thinking, but I seriously doubt it.
