Now I have two different crews doing work on the house and just got back to my computer. Today is going to be tough!

because I was up at 3 am EDT this morning to go to the bathroom (a "common DU problem" ) and since I keep the news radio station on overnight on low volume, I heard it then. I am normally up at 4 am but at the time I said to myself, OMG I know DU is blowing up right now.

I went to bed early last night - about 12:30. Usually I can't sleep before 2 AM and get up around ten or so. With the construction (that hopefully is almost finished) I have had few full nights of sleep since February. Some of the crews would get here before 6 AM. Nothing like a framing crew putting a new roof frame on the house to make it hard to sleep!

Chronic lack of sleep is very difficult to deal with.

from following the damn chaos here in Philly and in PA, so I actually managed to make it to bed at my "normal" time last night (usually between 9 - 9:30 pm). I am glad I did that because with what is going on now, I would end up in a straitjacket.

But it's been years since I've had to on a regular basis. As a chronic insomniac, I feel deprived when I am forced to get up at a specific time so the construction guys have been annoying. My favorite crew would keep quiet until they saw I was up when possible, then they would cut loose with the saws and the powered nailers, but they had to get work done so I tried to get up by 9 AM, sometimes 8.

I used to get naps in the afternoon, but not with the construction crews. They are finishing the upstairs deck, the porch is being painted and will be screened next, then the new gutters, and the final electrical - and we are DONE. The cats will love it since the screened porch is mostly for them, and they can learn that this place is usually very quiet.

Washed out the end of a retaining wall. We don't have the gutters up but even so, the new grading handled it well. I think we got over 4 inches in 24 hours - more than many storms that hit us directly and we were on the eastern edge of the storm, only getting some of the outer bands.

This is only going to get crazier, so take care of yourself.

We can still hope for his resignation if he contracts the virus prior to the election.
