Election 2020: Trump Tweets Democratic States Are 'Going To Hell'

President Donald Trump fired off another barrage of angry tweets Monday, saying several states run by Democrats are "going to hell."

In a trio of tweets, Trump singled out California, Illinois, and New York as deplorable. Together, these three states account for 20% of the U.S. population. The Democratic Party controls each state government and the largest cities within them.

Trump has frequently criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom. The president's latest tweet is likely a reference to the wildfires that have torched nearly 4% of the state's land and killed 31 residents since it emerged in early summer, The Independent reported.

It is unclear what prompted Trump to include Illinois in his tweets, although he has previously suggested that Chicago's strict gun laws and "black on black" crimes are more of a concern than the systemic racism in law enforcement.

He hates this state with a passion. I cannot believe a single voter in CA would vote for Trump with the tax changes, immigration issues, lack of help on forest fires, lack of help on Covid etc etc, all of which, singularly and collectively, have hurt this state badly.

But maybe I just answered the question: immigration. Maybe that's why he still more than zero voters here. And frankly speaking, if you go outside many cities/urban areas, it's as red as can be in many places in CA.

I suspect when Kamala becomes VP, things will normalize here (and everywhere).

In the latest back and forth: “ After President Donald Trump tweeted Monday a claim that Illinois has "no place to go," Gov. J.B. Pritzker clapped back, offering the president five "exciting" places to visit in the state.

Trump called out the state on Twitter, describing it as "sad," but Pritzker said he was surprised that the same person who put his name on a Chicago skyscraper would say the state has no place to go.”
