Congresswoman Jahana Hayes: Virtual meeting with Newtown residents interrupted by racist Zoombombers

Flinging racial slurs and playing offensive music, Zoombombers interrupted a virtual campaign meeting with Newtown residents hosted by U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes, the first Black woman to represent Connecticut in Congress.
“I’m so sorry to the people of Newtown who had to sit through this zoom bombing episode," Hayes, D-5th District, wrote on Twitter Monday evening. "During our virtual conversation these people continued to call me the N-word, play disgusting derogatory music and flood the chat with comments like this.”
She included a picture of some of the comments, which repeatedly told Hayes to “go pick your cotton” and expressed adoration for President Donald Trump. “Trump is the best president the U.S. has ever had!!!!" one of the disrupters wrote.
“This behavior is being normalized! We can ALL choose not to accept it. Please vote on November 3rd," Hayes said.

Thankfully republican politicians as well as Democrats have come out in support of Hayes and condemned this disgusting attack.
