Obama to campaign for Biden in Philadelphia on Wednesday
Source: Axios
Former President Obama is expected to make his first in-person campaign stop for Joe Biden next Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Philadelphia.
The state of play: With 18 days until the election, the former president plans to visit a handful of critical battleground states. Obama is expected to make joint appearances with Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris in the final stretch of the race, the Atlantic reports, and will concentrate on states with early voting.
Hes doing enough for our campaign, Biden told reporters on Tuesday, leaking plans for the former president's campaign efforts. Hell be out on the trail.

Here Comes Obama
Obama is an arena politician, strongest in front of a crowd cheering for him, but he wont be anywhere near an arena between now and November 3. So far, the closest that Obama has come to traveling to a swing state is spending much of the summer in Marthas Vineyard. But thats about to change. For the last two weeks of the campaign, Obama will hit the trail, potentially adding joint appearances with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Hell be attending drive-in rallies, which have become a Biden campaign pandemic favorite, letting voters see him from within the bubble of their own cars. Obamas focus will be on states with early voting, hoping to get those cars to drive right to the polls, and promoting Democrats recent shift to emphasizing showing up in person earlyrather than relying on the mailto bank as many votes as possible before Election Day.
Hes doing enough for our campaign, Biden told reporters on Tuesday, letting the plans slip, after weeks of his aides trying to figure out what campaigning requests theyd make of Obama. Hell be out on the trail.

But has President Obama ever campaigned for someone who actually won?

(15,325 posts)2. Barack Obama won
I know that, but wondered why that never translated to wins for candidates he campaigned for.

(and note that in some cases he did "endorsements" only and others he did both "endorsements" and actual "campaigning" (but probably mostly the former))

PA is critical, especially for Trump.
He successfully campaigned for Northam, who won the Virginia Governorship.
