Democrats hatch plans to counter Trump's attempts to cast doubt on election results

Source: CNN

(CNN)Behind the scenes, Democrats are preparing to confront President Donald Trump if he loses the election next month to Democrat Joe Biden -- if Trump claims that the result is rigged, refuses to engage in a peaceful transition or tries to challenge the result through the courts, Congress or statehouses.

The Biden campaign and congressional Democrats are strategizing together to wage a post-election response to Trump on two fronts -- anticipating both a legal challenge and a messaging war -- as Trump's attacks on the election have only intensified while he's lagging in the polls two weeks ahead of Election Day, with voting already underway. Outside groups are also mobilizing to try to blunt any efforts to dispute the vote count after November 3.

Trump has repeatedly made baseless claims that the election will be fraudulent and stolen from him, saying, "The only way we're going to lose this election is if the election is rigged." The President has also refused to say that he will accept a peaceful transfer of power. Though he said at Thursday's NBC News town hall that he wants there to be a peaceful transfer of power, he again suggested he would not agree to it at a rally in Michigan on Saturday.

I will set aside my personal dislike of the torture technique to see if I was wrong about it being an effective interrogation technique instead. I'll be starting with Ivanka and then Junior...but Eric will get to watch so that by the time we get to him, he'll be spilling secrets about who snuck candy before dinner back in 1986...

19. So many options
Mon Oct 19, 2020, 02:18 PM
Oct 2020

I mean, just picture the flow charts of the options, for trump, his family, barr, etc. The options fall into the realm of war gaming.

One option might be that the flees the country after the election and before the inauguration - while he still has his passport.

And if he doesn't, then at 12:01 pm on January 20, the NYS AG and NYC DA (and others) drop a ton of indictments, along with demands that those indicted surrender their passports.

And what happens to the usual Secret Service protection for former presidents?

Assuming that he loses, I think he'll stick around to cause chaos and then at 12:01 pm on January 20, he and his family flee to a country without an extradition treaty.

BTW, here's a list of those countries, per worldpopulationreview.com:

China
Indonesia
Bangladesh
Russia
Ethiopia
Vietnam
Myanmar
Uganda
Algeria
Sudan
Ukraine
Afghanistan
Morocco
Saudi Arabia
Uzbekistan

he'd have to get in. Some of those countries might not want him. I mean, some of them may have standards he and his family can't meet.

I'm sure he'll love the opulence of the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, for example, but he'd be one of the poorest people in those countries.

I'm pretty sure China's out. Too many Muslims in Indonesia (to say nothing, of course, of the Middle Eastern countries).

I'm not sure the great white hunters would be welcome as residents in Africa. Tremendous development potential in Somalia and Eritrea.

It would be ironic if Vietnam is chosen.

"The Defending Digital Democracy Project helps campaign and election officials fortify themselves against attacks by:

Developing solutions to share important threat information with technology providers, governments, and political organizations;

Providing election administrators, election infrastructure providers, and campaign organizations with practical “playbooks” to improve their cybersecurity;

Developing strategies for how the United States and other democracies can credibly deter hostile actors from engaging in cyber and information operations;

Assessing emerging technologies, such as blockchain, that may improve the integrity of systems and processes vital to elections and democracy;

Convening civic, technology, and media leaders to develop best practices that can shield our public discourse from adversarial information operations."

Yeah, duh! I know. But it's uncharted territory in the US. Which federal, state, police, constabulary, ancillary, militia will support who and where? Mercenaries, private armies? It's not just about courts, though it could end there quickly, or slowly. Or it could have skirmishes in various jurisdictions.

I still think Trump a tool for foreign adversaries that want to topple America and enjoy the spoils. In the long arm of history, democracy has developed enemies along the way.

Statistics for voter/election fraud for all elections to date.

Note that even though there is zero evidence, Trump insists there was 2016 election fraud by illegal immigrants, of approximately 3,000,000 votes, which coincidentally is the amount of Hillary's win of the popular vote.

2020 Election:

Trump down in the polls by double digits.

Constant announcements by Trump of massive (but unproven) voter and election fraud.

Trump asserting the mail-in votes are nothing but voter fraud, even though he, his entire family, and AG William Barr ALL voted by mail.

Trump telling HIS voters to vote twice, which is illegal.

Trump telling HIS supporters to go to polls to suppress votes (personally deciding who appears to be democrats, therefore who to challenge), which is illegal.

When caught supporting suppression of votes, Trump telling his white supremacists to "stand back" and "stand by". The implication being, "until I give the order".

Trump announcing that IF HE DOESN'T WIN, IT IS RIGGED.

Trump announcing that he may not accept the election results.

Trump refusing to agree to a smooth transition.

Trump saying that the Supreme Court will decide who is the winner.

Trump trying to ram through a Supreme Court nominee that has admitted that she doesn't know if interfering in an election is illegal, but who is INTEGRAL to the Supreme Court declaring HE is the winner of the election, regardless of the votes.
