Steele dossier sub-source threatens to sue top Republicans

The primary source for the Steele dossier is threatening legal action against President Donald Trump and top congressional Republicans, who helped publicly identify him and have labeled him a “Russian spy.”
Through his attorney, Igor Danchenko — a conduit the former MI-6 officer to sources in Russia who described illegal, lurid and unverified acts by then-candidate Trump — says the president, as well as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), have put his life in danger and damaged his reputation by characterizing him as a spy despite lacking evidence to support the claim.
“As you know, Mr. Danchenko is not, nor has he ever been, an asset of the Russian
Federation,” the attorney, Mark Schamel, wrote in cease and desist letters to the two lawmakers and White House Counsel Pat Cipollone. “Your reckless conduct is not only causing substantial harm to Mr. Danchenko’s professional and personal reputation; it is endangering his life, as well as the lives of his colleagues, friends, and family.”
