This weekend may not be the last you hear of Trump supporters who surrounded a Biden campaign bus in Texas on Friday. The FBI is investigating, said a law enforcement source cited by The Texas Tribune. Whether any charges come of this is an open question.
As seen on video, a caravan of supporters of President Donald Trump harassed a Biden campaign bus on Interstate 35. In one clip, a white vehicle, and a black Trump flying a Trump flag made contact. There was no crash. During this incident, the black truck sideswiped the white vehicle, which was in the black trucks lane, but the moments before were not clearly captured on camera.

The Biden campaign said trucks appeared to attempt to slow down their bus. A source who spoke to the outlet on condition of anonymity said that cops in New Braunfels responded to calls, and escorted the campaign. This person said the Trump supporters dropped back behind cops. New Braunfels City Manager Robert Camareno said officers did not see traffic violations.

(9,994 posts)Its time for every state to start cracking down on these people. According to the research Ive done, every state has laws against private militia and paramilitary groups. All 50 states. So why have even Democratic governors allowed these groups to grow and openly flaunt the law? Heres what the Supreme Court has ruled and the law in Texas, not that I expect useless Abbott to do anything. Note the may not parade in public with firearms part.
... the Supreme Court decided in 1886and repeated in 2008that the Second Amendment does not prevent the prohibition of private paramilitary organizations. District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570, 621 (2008) (citing Presser v. Illinois, 116 U.S. 252 (1886)).
Is it legal to act as a private militia in Texas?
No. All 50 states prohibit private, unauthorized militias and military units from engaging in activities reserved for the state militia, including law enforcement activities. Texass laws are described below:
Texas Constitution: The Texas Constitution forbids private military units from operating outside state authority, providing that [t]he military shall at all times be subordinate to the civil authority. Tex. Const. art. I, § 24.
Texas Statutes
Prohibition on private military units: Texas law makes it illegal for groups of people to organize as private militias without permission from the state. Tex. Govt Code § 437.208 provides that a body of persons other than the regularly organized Texas military forces, the armed forces of the United States, or the active militia of another state may not associate as a military company or organization or parade in public with firearms in a municipality of the state.

not sure they could make it that far though.

For all the talk from the right wing about "personal responsibility", many of them around here don't seem to practice it much.
I have everything I want and need on a blue collar salary. Then again, I'm careful with that cash. I don't have $30,000 dollars worth of guns, or an $80,000 truck, or an expensive substance abuse habit.

The organizer of the Trump Train involved in yesterdays events isnt even a real Texan. Hes only lived in New Braunfels for three years and resided in Nevada prior to that.

One family has made hate and harassment their mission.
Nestled in the Hill Country is the picturesque town of New Braunfels. The old German settlement is home to a popular water park, beautiful hiking areas, and a former KKK Grand Dragon. Recently, the city has also become home to the Ceh family, transplants from Nevada who have positioned themselves as leaders in the battle of good vs evil in this growing central Texas city.
The family made their first media appearance in the summer, when local citizens staged a peaceful BLM gathering in the center of town. Steve and Randi Ceh showed up with several armed supporters to protect the town. Their friends made statements on social media (see screenshot) to harass local BLM supporters.
The couple insisted they were there in peace, but the guns and social media posts said otherwise.
After the success of their BLM protest, the couple decided to organize a Trump Train for NB. What started as a small gathering of goons with trucks and flags turned into a full fledged KKK style parade that locked down traffic while people were trying to get home from work. People of color in town changed worked schedules or their route home so they would not be subjected to the Thursday night harassment from the NB Trump Train.
The NB Trump Train has told Hispanics to go back where you came from.
They have yelled the N word and nearly run over a Black couple in the Buccees parking lot. The Ceh familys NB Trump Train allowed a member to drag a BLM flag under their truck, and even proudly made it part of their weekly video.
The racism escalated further when a NB Trump Train member randomly chose four Black men from the community to intimidate. He posted their pictures in the trains members only Facebook group and urged members to carry and watch for these men.

WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump on Sunday suggested the FBI should stop investigating an incident in which his supporters were seen surrounding a Biden campaign bus in Texas, which led Democrats to cancel an event there.
The presidents tweet came hours after the FBI confirmed that it was aware of the incident and investigating.
On Sunday night, Trump retweeted a screenshot of the FBI statement, adding: In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong. Instead, the FBI & Justice should be investigating the terrorists, anarchists, and agitators of ANTIFA, who run around burning down our Democrat run cities and hurting our people!
An FBI spokesperson said the bureau had no comment about the presidents tweet.
Trumps tweet come as tensions remained high between the president and FBI Director Christopher Wray, and as Trump has pressed the Justice Department and FBI to act against his rivals, including Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden himself. The president has also told people around him that he is frustrated with Wray over the FBI directors public statements on issues like voting fraud, Russian election interference and antifa, and has discussed the possibility of removing Wray if he wins reelection.
