William Koch, Billionaire Koch Brother, Accused Of Imprisoning Executive
Posted: 10/13/2012 9:39 am EDT
Billionaire William Koch is facing a lawsuit in federal court from a former top-level employee who claims the energy mogul lured him to a secluded property, where he was imprisoned and interrogated for a period of time, according to a report in Courthouse News.
....................
Martensen alleges that the multiple-day-long incident was set off by an anonymous letter accusing Martensen of mismanaging and stealing from Oxbow Carbon & Minerals International while serving as the company's vice president. That accusation prompted the company's leadership to read Martensen's letters and emails without his knowledge, the suit charges, which led the company to discover that Martensen had deep reservations about the legality of the company's tax avoidance strategies.
Martensen alleges he was told by his superiors that he was transferred overseas to Asia so that the Koch company could avoid paying U.S. taxes on some $200,000,000 in profits.
......................
Martensen had a flight booked from Aspen, but was not permitted to travel to the airport, he claims, as a local sheriff worked with Koch's employees to "make sure you don't wander off," according to the complaint. He says he was subjected to a several-hour interrogation, fired, held against his will on the property, then forced to fly in a private plane to San Francisco, accompanied by a man he believed to be armed.

just who are our government law officers working for? the plutocrats must be paying them more than we do and the constitution and bill of rights is just a piece of paper-a document that is superseded by any and all who are rich enough.

You doesn't get rich by playing nice. You get rich by bending all the rules in the book - and then some.. You know you are over the law anyway - rules and laws is for the "little people", not for the "upper-rich class".. Have never been, will never be it...
The names is changed over the last thousand years - but the system is more or less the same..
Hopefully mr Martensen will go forward with this - and maybe let some light into how they got so rich... The Kock brothers that is...

(7,515 posts)I read that among their other crimes they have been stealing oil from the owners of single wells on Indian Reservations by paying them for less than the amount of oil actually pumped. I think the one thing that can be safely said about all billionaires is that they are sick with greed.

(18,124 posts)they, the kock brothers, are a different class. Nothing will ever happen to them except a natural death of old fucking age. They are american aristocracy supporting mittytwit and queen anne, the titular rulers of the american aristocracy. Classless society my foot!!!!! democracy? yeah, very small d. Moneyocracy? very large M. We have been trying to regain our democracy that was stolen, every since the obvious presidential shenanigans of 2000- 2004. Looks like some more shenanigans in the making here in 2012! And if it is stolen, won't be a damn thing done about it. sheeple will go about their fearful days looking over their shoulders for the storm troopers.

I'm not a shill. I just want to get this word out. The Kochs *never* give out interviews. I used to live in Wichita and I can only remember one interview they gave with the Wichita Eagle, about 12 years ago or so. I have no idea what this interview will say. Even if it's a PR piece, it's going to be worth reading, either way. And do not ever, ever consider me a shill. I may be newly registered just so I could post this but I'm a long-time reader.

(12,412 posts)is not a pleasant experience for locals of all political persuasions. He intimidates people with his public land grabs and parading around in his personal military tank. Look up "paonia cherry day parade" for an eye opener.
People working for and supportive of him are locally referred to as "Koch Roaches"

(6 posts)If anyone else was even accused of this they would have been arrested immediately. Obama should send the Justice Dept. to investigate this or this guy will get away with anything. I'm tired of always seeing rich people get off easy. We need an attorney general like Bobby Kennedy. At least he had some guts.

(4,847 posts)If you're going to rant about it, at least include ashcroft's DOJ arresting chong for, I believe, one of his employees selling drug paraphernalia, not even drugs. I'm for the legalization of MJ, especially industrialized hemp. but, it's not going to happen when the oil industry, big pharma, and others have a vested interest in their other products. hemp would be a boon to farmers, especially in the south. cloth, paper, oil and even flour are things made from hemp. It once was called "the poor man's plant." but the corporations and the plutocracy don't like it, if they did it would be legal tomorrow. anyway, the "war on drugs", using our money, is making big money (our dime) for certain people. take away the black market, down goes prison count, violence and increase revenue by taxing it.
