McConnell called Hawley out on conference call Hawley wasn't on

Source: CNN

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday held a conference call with the Senate GOP caucus in which he questioned Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley over his plans to object to the Electoral College vote, according to a source directly familiar with the call.

Hawley did not respond to multiple questions from McConnell, including when asked to lay out his plan to object to the Electoral College vote, and was apparently not on the call. Politico was the first to report the news of the call that an official told CNN occurred earlier Thursday.

A second source familiar with the call told CNN that McConnell made it clear to his members on Thursday that he is giving them room to vote their conscience on such objections.

-snip-

When Hawley did not speak on the call, Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, a retiring Republican, explained to the conference why he believed that the state was not a good test case for election fraud allegations, according to the second source familiar with the call.

In those ads, he assured voters that because his beautiful little boy has a congenital condition he'd "never take away" (Obamacare) pre-existing conditions coverage - while leading the charge as state A.G. to strip said coverage!

As he spoke, they'd show the toddler crawling in SloMo - for maximum psychological impact.

Pure, unrefined evil. No wonder he's already the odds-on favorite to win the GOPee nomination in '24.

a loser and McConnell should strip him of whatever committee’s he is on. Odd how he jumped on the $2000 Covid relief bandwagon all of a sudden after trump wanted it. Why didn’t he speak up for this a month or two ago if he thought it was really needed by the citizens of this country.

That makes it clear that this is not just a Trump fantasy, the GOP is laying the groundwork for challenging election results on a wide scale in the future. Ferreting out voter suppression is not nearly enough.

Thank you for seeing this as I do. The US Constitution has multiple systemic flaws that have been, are now being, and will be gamed out and exploited at ever-increasing levels and nation-destroying degrees by the Rethugs.

What do you expect for a rising Republican in a Republican state.

No independent investigation, just political cover up!

Trim from the front up to the "https" and from the back up to and including the ampersand (just after the "html" in this case). Sometimes you have to experiment a little with less trimming at the end until you get a working link. Often the place to trim is a question mark "?".

Also, the non trimming on Twitter posts and then pics drives me bonkers. Just clip off the ? and all after it, especially for tweets.

It is like posters do not even preview their attempts.

This is just WAY too f'ing bizarre, and not a little bit frightening. The GOP thinks this is a valid tactic and is underpinned by some solid Constitutional law. Just the idea that people with power think this is at all acceptable boggles the mind.

I love that Moscow Mitch is losing control over his elephants. The ring leader of years and years of obstruction and dirty politics can’t wash off that bronzer stain fast enough.

Absolutely love it, and God willing he loses his role as majority leader!

Merrick Garland? Never saw him.

People in need of $2000? They don't exist.

Lunatic objects to Electoral College? Let's conference with him while he's not there.

This is now a pattern and a strategy.

Look for more of it.
