GOP officials, donors blame Trump for weak Republican showing in Georgia runoffs

Source: CNBC

Republican officials, donors and advisors, many of them behind the scenes, blamed President Donald Trump for the party’s poor showing in the Senate runoff elections in the once reliably red state of Georgia.

“Trump f----d the party,” a staunch Trump ally said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The president, this campaign official said, “just made people not trust the system and made it tough for candidates to take positions for their states.”

...

A GOP strategist with ties to Trump critic Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah., said the losses will lead to the Republican Party splitting. This will, in turn, lead to “the beginning of a long war of attrition,” including vicious battles in “primaries for 2022 races, and eventually the 2024 primary.”

Romney himself appeared to take aim at Trump on Wednesday. “It turns out telling voters the election is rigged is not a good way to turn out your voters,” said Romney, a former Republican presidential nominee who was the only member of his party to vote to remove Trump during the impeachment trial last year.

You have no principles as is evidenced by the lack of a party platform this election. You’re only good at telling which way the wind is blowing and trying to cover your own asses.

I think Mitch lost it for them last week by not bringing the $2,000 to a vote. I personally know two Republicans who wanted him out. Money comes first.

No one in Trump’s right-wing not base would ever vote for a Democrat. I hope Trump takes his base with him and splits the Republican Party. That would be a beautiful thing.

Kelly and David did take some solid positions.

Kelly campaigned with KKK folks.

David displayed his white power symbol right in the open.

Now with the new sun light laws on sheltering their cash abroad. It will be a painful year for the rich.

The donors are shocked, they did not know trump could behave the way he has, there was no clue throughout his time on earth that could have told anyone what a worm, what a nincowpoop (in the words of Bugs Bunny), what a corrupt, unintelligent individual trump is...I mean, who knew??? And all that money they gave away, always expecting a presidential human being who never showed up because he just can't, but what a surprise, isn't it?

Well, I am glad they wasted their money...fuck you donors!

Looking after themselves, gaining power and money at the expense of the common folk.
But they were subtle about it, so few people noticed or were upset enough to do something about it.

Then along comes Trump, who lifts the Republican game to new levels, blatant, in your face arrogance, cranked up to an obnoxious level high enough for people to go 'This isn't right, something needs to be done!'

Result? Record voter turnout, record Democratic Party votes.

Dislike for Trump now flows back up the sewage pipes to drench the whole Republican Party.
Jumping ship and them saying 'Never liked Trump and the way he did business, anyway', won't work.

Trump really has destroyed the Republican Party. Too bad, so sad, live with it, Republicans!
