Secret Service officer placed under investigation after accusing lawmakers of treas
Source: Washington Post
News of the investigation comes as law enforcement agencies broaden their investigations into what role their own officers played in the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol as they look through social media posts.
In one image, the newspaper reported Monday night, the secret service officer posted a meme on Facebook titled "Here's to the Peaceful Transition of Power" with President Donald Trump shaking hands with himself in the Oval Office. A day after the siege on the US Capitol, a comment was posted using the officer's name that criticized attempts to remove Trump from office and accused lawmakers who accepted the electoral college vote of "committing treason on live tv."
"Good morning patriots! Yesterday started out beautiful and as usual Antifa soured the mood and attacked police and an Air Force veteran was murdered....It's OFFENSE time finally!!," the comment read, according to the newspaper.

"I know you don't want to hear this but George Soros is funding Antifa"
I asked "Do you even know what Antifa means?"
Of course they don't know. I went on to explain exactly what you said.
They are Anti-Facist.

In recent years I have felt police forces have been infiltrated with RW leaning, former military individuals. Also trained in military techniques which would be more appropriate in war zones, like shoot first and ask questions later, especially when dealing with minority individuals.
But the fact that the Capitol Police and Secret Service have allowed their ranks to become populated with individuals who espouse RW ideology and conspiracy theories is very upsetting.
There appears to be no effort to weed out individuals involved in the far RW political ideology and that is a dereliction of duty by the people in charge.
Congress should definitely look into how those services keep an eye on their staffs and the organizations they become aligned with. No one in either service should have any involvement in radical groups.

(96 posts)I'm having trouble putting my finger on any left wing violence in the recent past. Maybe I'm not following closely enough, but with the exception of one mentally ill guy, the smashing and looting and killing that occurred during BLM protests seems to have been done mostly by oppportunists and right wing counter protesters. What have I missed?

(2,694 posts)I wonder how this person got through the hiring process and what her rank is and her tenure.
Her FB post demonstrates both folly and gross stupidity. Maybe her inner Nazi just couldnt stay quiet in light of the meanies on the Left criticizing the president whom she admires so. The posts on FB could have been her letter of resignation -- so she can join the mob of murderous assassins when they return to D.C. -- if they return to D.C.
But Secret Service? Man, I seriously overrated those folks, thinking, wow, these people are absolutely willing to lay down their own lives to protect the people whose security they provide. Not in this case. This agents mind is scrambled and she publicly admits that she feels most people in Congress are worthy of a noose or bullet -- they being traitors, after all.

(6,265 posts)till it's over. We still have the numbers, they have their infiltration agents. Police and military are now suspect and being investigated after the coup attempt by GOP-trump army of insurrectionists. America is under attack from Americans.

(22,843 posts)Time to clean house from top to bottom. I'm not talking about loyalty oaths - they already made those when they got their jobs. I'm not talking about a political purge. I'm talking about firing and possibly indicting anybody working for the federal government who has posted insurrectional material that calls into question the fairness and outcome of the election. You can't "defend the constitution of the USA against enemies domestic and foreign" if you are one of them.

(13,535 posts)week I think it was, that they were going to use secret service for Biden that have worked with Biden when he was Vice President. Now we know why. Every one of the secret service should now be investigated.

(595 posts)There are at least two different branches of the SS, one is the agents who protect the various individuals and wear plan clothes and there is also a uniformed branch who look like policemen/women and work around various government properties especially the Executive Office of the President, (white house etc.) Let's hope she is in the latter and would have had less contact with POTUS.
