Al Gore: If I were in Senate, I would vote to convict Trump

Source: The Hill

Former Vice President Al Gore said on Wednesday that if he were in the Senate, he "would vote to convict" former President Trump, who was impeached for a second time following the deadly rioting at the U.S. Capitol.

Gore told NBC News during its inauguration coverage that he supported the conviction of Trump in the Senate after the House impeached him on allegations that he incited the mob of his supporters that breached the Capitol earlier this month.

The Senate trial is slated to start after President Biden's inauguration on Wednesday.

"If I were still in the Senate, I would vote to convict because I think accountability for this grave crime against the American republic must be followed by accountability for those who instigated, organized, provoked and started it," Gore said.

has served his purpose and they are going to throw him away like a used rubber because he is to volatile.
The way I see the vote playing out Mitch will arrange for about 7 of the Senate Republicans that just won in 2020 to vote to convict and he will have 14 of those that are going to be running for office in the next election to "boycott" the vote in order to ensure a conviction by bringing the number of those present within the Constitutionally required amount which is 2/3.
Of course that is assuming the Democrats do not spike his plans of taking Trump out of the equation by having one or two of theirs vote against impeachment.
