White House hits back at Florida governor's criticism of building mass vaccination sites
Source: Independent
The White House has responded to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticism of President Joe Bidens plan to have the federal government open mass vaccination sites across the country.
"I would use all that energy and I would put that towards more supply of the vaccine," Mr DeSantis said at a news conference over the weekend.

At the White House press briefing on Monday, Jen Psaki, the press secretary, was asked about Mr DeSantis criticism and what the president thought about it.
The president is a pretty even-keeled guy, so I would say he doesnt have much of a reaction other than he wants to ensure the vaccine is distributed to people across the country, including, of course, the millions of people living in Florida, she said.

What good is manufacturing more vaccine if you can't get it to people? The distibution infrastructure is part of the process if we want to eliminate the COVID-19 threat.

(1,159 posts)I'd tell DeSantis he is free to opt out on behalf of the citizens of Florida. More vaccines for states that are not governed by MAGAidiots.

(53,792 posts)building huge vaccination sites. It's about using existing structures like arenas, high school gyms and speedways like Daytona that specialize in getting crowds in and out quickly, and have plenty of parking.

(12,431 posts)They always look for a way to criticize the Democrats, often mining deep into an issue to find some tiny sample of fault and blowing it up into horrifying proportions. Our own protofascist rep, Elise Stefanik, defended Trump's extortion of the Ukrainian president by ginning up a controversy about someone on Schiff's staff actually talking to a whistleblower. Blind to Trump's massive failure in the COVID response, she repeats the indictment of Cuomo for sending patients to nursing homes early in the pandemic every time the issue of Trump's response is brought up. In their worldview, mice and elephants are the same size and they never see the beam in their own eyes but rather the motes in those of the Democrats.
