(Reuters) - Global aviation companies made a plea on Wednesday for funding under a roughly $2 trillion U.S. infrastructure package proposed by President Joe Biden to revamp the economy, saying a cycle of modernization in the sector is long overdue.
Now is the time to reassess longstanding aviation infrastructure investment priorities and to fund critical projects, Alan Pellegrini, head of the U.S. division of French defense and aerospace group Thales SA, said at a U.S. Chamber of Commerce aviation summit.
Other speakers included the chief executives of leading U.S. airlines and aerospace companies.

(15,646 posts)always so many vultures circling overhead. Today's greed level is breath taking. Can't help but wonder whether sufficient oversight will be in place to make sure that the money doesn't flow at a higher than pro-rata percent to the wealthiest pots already, or to scammers galore. I sure hope so.

(851 posts)How about we do it this way? You guys in the airline or whatever big business industry tell us what you need and WE will buy it for you and deliver it - for a "small fee" from you of course. That way there's no stock buy-back or bonuses for the overly greedy. After all, it's our money and we should have say in it. We shouldn't and then don't have to rely or even can depend on the BS the Right in Congress will make as excuses for their copro-rat dominatrices.
Too much public money is somehow diverted to other interests by big business when they claim they need something. The difference seems to be needing or WANTING some socialized hand-out.
