Obama: Mitt Has Romnesia
DAVID TAINTOR 12:13 PM EDT, FRIDAY OCTOBER 19, 2012
President Obama said at a campaign event in Virginia on Friday that Mitt Romney has been "backtracking" and "sidestepping" so much, the condition needs a name. Obama dubbed it "Romnesia."

(1,990 posts)on the one hand it does harken back to how inconsistent Romney has been, it does serve to showcase his different positions of late with what he was saying at the Republican Primary debates, but on the other hand it allows Republicans to freely use their "Obamanation" ("abomination" line - which I've heard at work (Obama is an "Obamanation" . I always HATED that. Not that Republicans don't show any qualms about using that line anyhow, but still.
Having said that, I hope that on November 6th this country does turn into an "Obama-Nation"!.

(8,965 posts)Republicans had no qualms about coining the mocking term "Obamacare" (now adopted by its proponents and effectively neutralized). Their candidate deserves at least as much name-based recognition for what he's been saying and rehashing day in and day out for years.

(4,959 posts)Editorial: Biden has dementia? A Fox News analyst's post-debate insult
By Star-Ledger Editorial Board
on October 16, 2012 at 2:32 PM, updated October 16, 2012 at 5:27 PM
Pundits on the right are still trying to deflate Vice President Joe Biden after the success of his debate performance last week. Fox News has always aggressively promoted its point of view while hiding behind the Orwellian slogan of Fair and Balanced. After Bidens star turn in the only debate between the vice presidential candidates, the Fox spin cycle gyrated out of control in its attempt to conjure a negative out of Bidens accomplishment.
The latest: On Monday a Fox News analyst suggested Bidens energetic challenge to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in which Biden by turns smiled, laughed, interrupted and mocked suggests dementia.
Huh? Heres psychiatrist Keith Ablow, quoted by Think Progress:
I did not evaluate Joe Biden, but if someone said to me, we want you to do whats really required to know what happened there, you have to put dementia on the differential diagnosis. You have to say, bizarre laughter, interrupting. If this were your dad or your grandfather, wouldnt you say if you brought him to me, Keith, youve got to tell me, is he suffering with dementia? Because he cant seem to listen, hes laughing inappropriately.
Jon Stewart nailed the inanity of Ablows remarks: Yes, Stewart said, that rare form of dementia where you remember too much.
More.

(200 posts)Mr. Romney has plans that he could not possibly have he thought out carefully. I maintain that he has all along been doing this for Ann, not him. He is a high functioning Asberger Syndrome patient, excitingly high functioning. But he has demonstrated disrespect during the debates, so he could never have my vote. Also, he is not kind to gay men and women and I am gay, so I will respectfully ask all people (who do not watch Fox News ) to vote for my man, Barack Obama.

(18 posts)Is Romnesia a temporary condition or is it permanent and incurable? Judging from the Romneyoid Klan, I have faith that the condition is congenital, ie, genetic mutants created in the spitting image of Mitt's Mormonic God. And given that 47% of Willard's most rabid fans seem to also exhibit symptoms of Romnesia, I fear that the incurable mutation might be contagious so I shalt no longer be attending any of his rallies... at least not without a rabies shot.

(32 posts)You may have ROMNESIA if:
1) You refuse to release your tax returns but ask people you're vetting for V.P to submit
10 years of tax returns.
2) You call 47% of your fellow citizens moochers and free loaders who pay not taxes, yet hide
your money in tax heavens in Caymans and Bermuda so as to avoid paying taxes.
3) You protest in favor of the Vietnam war as a youth, then run to France to hide so as to
avoid being drafted to go fight in the same war.
4) You tell your rich friends behind closed doors that you do not care about 47% of the country
but say on national tv that you care about 100% of the country.
5) You tell your rich friend behind closed doors that if there was a political crises anywhere,
you will take full advantage of it for political gain, but pretend when a crises erupts in Libya
that your comments are in the national interest, even though you had no details of the crisis
6) Your major business experience and career was about tearing up American companies,
shipping the jobs overseas, stealing the pensions of the workers. Also as governor of
Massachusetts you were 47th in job creation among the states, yet you fly around the
country, calling yourself a job creator!!

(3,992 posts)"The president has a new term for this sort of ability to change your mind so quickly: He calls it 'Romnesia,'" Biden said, echoing the president's new line from a Virginia appearance earlier today. "Boy, I tell you what, I hope y'all don't get Romnesia. It's a bad disease. It's a bad disease and it is contagious."...
..."All of sudden Paul Ryan the budget hawk- the guy that introduced a whole budget that already passed ... the House of Representatives," Biden explained. "All of sudden he doesn't remember it. He doesn't remember it. He doesn't remember what it does to the vital programs that mean so much to working people."
