Joe Walsh Accuses Tammy Duckworth Of Blaming Sexual Assault Victims
Source: TPM

Late Friday afternoon, Walsh released a statement to partially walk back his comment on abortion, conceding that there are such cases where both a woman and fetus are at grave risk. In those very rare cases where a mothers life may be in danger past the point of viability for the baby, todays doctors work to induce labor or perform a caesarean section in an attempt to save BOTH lives, Walsh said. These cases are extremely rare, and they unfortunately are used by the militant pro-choice movement to justify every single abortion.
But Walsh goes further, counter-accusing Duckworth of ridiculing and blaming victims of sexual assault.
He also followed it up with a tweet.

(1,435 posts)His daughters, were the reason for his being sued for non support.
Child services and the court system are very aware of Dead Beat Dad Walsh.. he's managed to skip many child support payments.. owes thousands of child support dollars. He's a loser (and so are his daughters because of him). Come on Illinois you can do much better than this sad excuse for your representative in Congress. Vote him out!

(10,495 posts)linked people to, she said she "...was a pretty tough chick OFFICER." Most of the military rapists are not officers, or are officers who are raping younger non-officers (full disclosure, I do not have a military background myself). Because she was an officer, a rapists chances of being disciplined/prosecuted rise exponentially. So she meant that she was the type that cringed inu fear and would stand up for herself. A rapist will pick a much easier target! More right wing nut bull shit! I will add that even for a right-wing nut job, he is especially nutty! I mean, really!

(23,272 posts)A perp chooses a victim that they believe they can dominate, "prey" if you will. Since rapists are seeking "success" it only makes sense they are seeking those who appear vulnerable in whatever way a perp perceives that.
Tammy Duckworth was a powerful military officer. She hardly exudes an aura of vulnerability. Ever.
That Joe Walsh doesn't understand this underscores his pathetic misunderstanding of the world that 90% of women live in - one where danger really does lurk on a daily basis in their homes, workplace, on the streets - everywhere.

(19,374 posts)Huge difference between being "weak" and being "scared". Tammy even qualified why the eighteen year old soldier might be scared, but of course that wouldn't fit in Walsh's narrative.
I can't wait to hear his concession. Go Tammy!
