U.S. joins false claims suit against Gallup polling firm

Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON – The Justice Department said Wednesday that it has joined a lawsuit against The Gallup Organization alleging the polling company filed false claims on contracts with the U.S. Mint, the State Department and other government agencies.
A fired Gallup employee who became a whistle-blower, Michael Lindley, alleges in the lawsuit that he discovered shortly after going to work for the polling company that it had engaged in widespread fraud against the government. Honored as "Rookie of the Year" at Gallup in 2009, Lindley says he was fired six months later when he told colleagues that if the company didn't report overbilling practices to the government, Lindley would do so himself.
His lawsuit, filed nearly three years ago and unsealed Wednesday in federal court, says Gallup routinely submitted inflated cost estimates which enabled the company to reap huge profits from its government business

6. Holder needs to do more

I think Eric Holder as the Attorney General and Top Law enforcement officer needs to do his job more. He shouldn't let the Republican Congress intimidate him. I actually think they are trying to undermind U.S. Foreign Policy also. They can't win on merits, now they are trying to steal the Election. There have been a whole lot of bad Pollsters in this election and mostly Republican. Gravis Marketing should be investigated. There is a clue.

The Whistle blow said, "According to Lindley, when he asked O'Brien why he had been fired, O'Brien said "When you start talking about going to the Department of Justice, I don't trust you anymore.""

Now why would the lawyer to Gallup be upset that an employee is going to DOJ, unless they was some criminal behavior going on in the corporation.

Here are some of the crimes of Gallup:

"According to Lindley's lawsuit, on a $2 million-a-year sole-source contract with the Mint, Gallup inflated the number of hours required to complete the work, usually by a multiple of two or three times the number justified by historical experience. Gallup was hired to conduct market research for the sale of newly issued coins."

"The lawsuit says Gallup actually wrote the request for proposal that the Army's contracting officer issued. Gallup wrote the proposal so the contract could be awarded only to a company with characteristics that were unique to Gallup, according to Lindley's allegations."

Now how are you going to trust their polling?

I'm glad the justice department is spend time, money, and energy on going after a polling outfit instead of investigating the widespread voter suppression, billionaires threatening employees for supporting President Obama, and Tagg Romney's ties to the vote machines in Ohio.

Great Job Eric! The guy reminds me of Howard Sprauge from the Andy Griffith Show. If we will, I'd like a new attorney general in the second term who might actually start bringing the right-wing traitors to justice.

How the hell do you know what they are or are not investigating? Clairvoyance? Not seeing it in the nooze or on teevee or they didn't personally call you up to tell you every investigation that they were doing?

DU boggles the mind sometimes.

--The horses are ALREADY out of the barn.

I caught you knockin'
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don't understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.
I've seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
like a settin' sun.
