Mark and Patricia McCloskey Plead Guilty to Misdemeanors After Brandishing Guns Outside St. Louis Mansion
AARON KELLER Jun 17th, 2021, 3:51 pm

Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who pointed guns at protesters outside their mansion in a gated St. Louis community last summer, on Thursday pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, according to a statement released by special prosecutor Richard G. Callahan.

Mark McCloskey, a lawyer, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault, a Class C misdemeanor, and was ordered to pay a $750 fine.

“[H]e purposefully placed at least one individual in apprehension of immediate physical injury by waiving a rifle in the direction of one or more individuals in front of his home,” Callahan’s statement said.

Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment, a Class A misdemeanor, and was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, the statement said.

“That charge alleges that on June 20, 2020, she pointed a pistol at a group of individuals in front of her home without good cause and with the purpose to cause emotional distress,” Callahan’s statement explained.

Is she holding a gun or getting ready to pour some tea? He just looks ridiculous. In his mind he is picturing Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando, but he looks goofy.

If they were really being threatened, which they were not, they would be leaving themselves open coming out like that holding those guns like that. That isn’t how you react when you are in a life or death situation. Those dumbfounded looks aren’t looks of fear, they are the looks a contest gives when their Price Is Right Spin was embarrassingly bad.

The stigma should follow them for the rest of their lives.

For anyone who knows, does this mean they have to give up gun rights? Clearly, they are too dangerous, and irresponsible to have them.

Edit: They did agree to give up their firearms as part of the plea deal. That said, I don't see anything that would prevent them from purchasing more firearms.

and when the protesters had the guns pulled on them, the protesters were simply walking by these idiots' house, on their way elsewhere. The protesters were a mix of all St. Louis citizens too, least someone think that the protesters were just black, they weren't, there was a mix, just like the city itself is made up of, roughly 1/2 black, 1/2 white.

Good. These thugs don't stand or act like the far majority of St. Louis residents, being that St. Louis has been a hotbed of protests and we all were used to it/the protests, accepted them.

Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at that phrase. House? That's a huge, ostentatious and vulgar mansion. That front courtyard thing where they're standing is probably bigger than my house!

I also laugh when people talk about "Bill Gates' house" when it's 66,000 square feet!

houses, scattered throughout the STL region, have most of them inside closed off, the occupants can't afford to even heat or cool the entire house. Why does one need such a large place? To show off, to be in your face, etc.? Back in the days when STLMO was more of a thriving area, these were built when manpower was cheap, etc. Now look at them...a lot of them are just sitting there, rotting away.

These are not the people I want to have in my neighborhood, they don't give a crap about anybody else but themselves, evident by their 'look at me, look at me and what I have' mentality. Don't get me wrong, there are some really nice people around, that live in such places but they don't attack the neighbors, they respect everyone, they're very gracious, and they don't pull guns on their neighbors. St. Louis is small enough that we all know pretty well everybody or know someone in such neighborhoods, all across the region. That's why I am happy to see them (the two idiots) get their due, pulling guns on people, as if we don't have enough problems to deal with in the St. Louis region, and then you have them and their arrogant attitudes.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said Wednesday he “most certainly would” pardon a St. Louis couple if they are convicted of gun charges after waving guns at protesters walking in front of their home this summer.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey were indicted Tuesday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with evidence arising from their confrontation with the demonstrators in their private neighborhood.

Parson had said earlier that he would pardon the couple and he repeated that pledge during a news conference Wednesday.

“We’ll let it play out and see how this all comes out in the courts, but I stand by what I said,” he said.[link:https://www.chicagotribune.com/nation-world/ct-nw-st-louis-couple-mccloskey-pardon-20201007-67ir2b45fjcspiun6yf26uaini-story.html|
