Biden's job ratings decline amid Covid surge, Afghanistan withdrawal in NBC News poll

Source: NBC

WASHINGTON — After a spike in U.S. Covid-19 cases and bipartisan criticism over the chaos from America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, President Joe Biden's overall job-approval rating has dipped below 50 percent among adults for the first time in his early presidency, according to a new NBC News poll.

The poll also finds fewer Americans support Biden’s handling of the coronavirus and the economy now than they did last spring, and just a quarter of respondents approve of his handling of Afghanistan.

The survey findings demonstrate the public has grown more pessimistic about the coronavirus since April, the country remains split over whether Covid-19 vaccines should be mandated and an electorate is divided over which political party should control Congress after the 2022 midterms.

It’s all produced a “summer of discontent” for Biden, said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.

You have to read print media to learn how many people have gotten out and how many more will get out over the next week.

So yeah, this is temporary. They'll go on to some other mess and be all breathless about it. Maybe they'll discover what murderous shits a lot of GOP governors down south have turned into.

Afghanistan for over a week, along with the increase in Covid cases due primarily to anti-vaxers and republicans.

They played a similar GAME by saying one week before the 2016 election, that the email investigation was reopened. That was a LIE, but for that entire week they paraded every right wing politician across their screens propagating that LIE

F**K THEM!!!

As far as I am concerned, this country deserves everything it gets.

can't be bothered to study even the bare fundamentals of polls. His drop in approval is within the MOE (4 point drop MOE 3.1 which equates to 6.2 when accounting for the fact error can be either direction). The 1 point he is below 50 is not only within the MOE it puts 50 along with 48 as the most likely options aside form 49 as his true approval. This is basic math and if reporters are going to write about polls they should know it.

And we know that Rasmussen polling is a complete sham of a poll.

The public normally has a short term memory problem when it comes to politics, regardless of of whomever is sitting in the White House. It's also unusual for the incumbent's party to do well in off term elections. That being said, damage control is entirely possible and necessary. People/groups like Bloomberg and the Lincoln Project should step up their efforts earlier than usual if repeating of history is to be avoided.

But what's laughable about polls is that 26 - 30% of those polled are TFG humpers, that if Biden himself rescued them into a lifeboat from the Titanic, would still oppose his actions in doing so. So put that into perspective.

Let me explain.

7 months into his administration President Biden has made some very hard and knowingly difficult decisions that HAD to be made and he has accepted (unlike The Turd) responsibility.

We all knew that with the rise of the Delta Variant of Sars Cov 2 there would be an increase in cases if people refused to be vaccinated.

The Turd made the Surge.

I fully expect to see a rebound with new fervor in the coming year ahead of 2022 as jobs increase, the economy and projects get underway, covid becomes more manageable and the covidiots die the fuck off.

I have to have faith and I, for one, will not back down anymore. I am done with the morons running the show.

Time to shout them down.

Fortunately things are not even close to a worst case scenario: Embassy seizure in Tehran where Americans are held hostage and extremists shout "Death to America" daily. In Afghanistan, the Taliban leadership are cooperating with the US by not attacking the airport and are trying to appear moderate in spite of the thirst for revenge and extremism by many of their followers.

If Biden and his team can get Americans and their Afghan allies out of Afghanistan safely and as fast as possible, his ratings will recover.

Succeeded in taking Biden down a notch. Congratulations, I guess.

The dip in approval for his handling of COVID-19 is especially infuriating. Sure, the CDC made a blunder with its messaging on masks, but the Biden admin is not responsible for a third or so of the country downright refusing to mask and vaccinate and R governors looking the other way while their constituents suffer and die, all in the name of "freedom" and individual liberties.

But I guess it's to be expected for a country of which a huge percentage of its citizens like to place the blame on others for their own predicaments.
