Horned, Furred, and Face-Painted 'Shaman' of the U.S. Capitol Siege Pleads Guilty in Federal Court

The man who stood behind former Vice President Mike Pence’s Senate dais in a horned, coyote-fur headdress, red, white and blue face paint and a shirtless display of his tattooed torso dropped his ceremony of innocence on Friday.

Jacob Chansley, the man also known as Jake Angeli and formerly branded the “QAnon Shaman,” pleaded guilty to obstructing the congressional certification.

“Yes, your honor,” Chansley said, when asked if he was guilty of his offense.

Senior U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth accepted Chansley’s plea after a hearing.

The story says there were six charges filed against him. In exchange for pleading guilty to one of them, the other five get dropped?

14. Yes, that's part of it. The actual sentence is determined by the judge.

There are guideline recommendations for a sentence that are determined in a somewhat complex calculation. In this case a felony with a 20 year max has a guideline of 41 to 51 months. But the judge can basically do what he wants. He could have even refused the plea if he thought it was inappropriate.

He agreed to plead guilty to everything and the defense asked for five years; the prosecution asked for twelve.

The judge made it fifteen and a half.

The guideline for the "Q A-Nut Sham Man" averages 46 months when the maximum is two HUNDRED and forty? His minimum should be closer to twice that.
