Tester says '100 percent' of reconciliation package must be paid for

Source: The Hill

Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.), a Democratic moderate, on Monday joined maverick Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) in calling for fellow Democrats to pay for all of the massive human infrastructure spending bill they are drafting behind closed doors.

Tester told reporters outside the Capitol that he wants "100 percent" of the bill, which Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) plans to pass under the budget reconciliation process, to be paid for.

That means Democrats will need to come up with at least another $600 billion in offsets if they are to meet their $3.5 trillion spending goal and get Tester's vote.

"I'm going to be looking at a couple things: Where the money is being coming from, how it's being raised and then how it's being utilized moving forward. We have a lot of work to do," Tester said.

Because if he really wants it "paid for" - that's where the money is.

An almost useless, barely flying, nearly obsolete, MIC wet dream which several of our allies have wisely avoided.

A Cub Scout with a slingshot could bring it down. A rookie in an A-4 could drop an entire wing of them.

now not so much - he is part of that Manchini gang who go around meeting with republicon big donors to do their bidding - Democrats my fucking ass

And Manchini is what Manchin's real name is even though his family changed it years ago so they could be acceptable businessmen selling furniture and making their fortune. Guess they didn't think they could be successful with a foreign name.

don't look bought - and that is why it has been so incredibly stupid, the biggest political mistake in history, for democrats to ignore rw radio - the only medium that can continuously, free for republicans, make the made-to-order constituencies the manchins and testers point to to enable their cowardice and or corruption

Sinema, however, doesn't want to participate in any negotiations. "It's just too damn much," she says, without specifying which parts she thinks should be eliminated. Glad she wasn't in the Senate when the issue of paying for WWII arose.
