Maricopa County and Arizona Senate reach agreement after months of sparring over 2020 election audit

Source: CNN

Arizona's Maricopa County and the state Senate have reached an agreement after a months-long dispute stemming from the local government's refusal to hand over electronic voting equipment logs related to the November 2020 election.

The Republican-controlled state Senate has been sparring with Maricopa County officials who didn't comply with subpoenas to release certain information related its voting system following the presidential election.
Fueled by former President Donald Trump's claims about widespread fraud in the 2020 election, Arizona state Senate Republicans demanded an election audit that began in April of the results in Maricopa County.

Maricopa County's Board of Supervisors on Friday agreed to provide the materials in question to a "special master," who will hire experts to review the records and provide information to the state Senate. Former Arizona Republican congressman John Shadegg will fill that role.

The settlement essentially "keeps county routers and other sensitive materials out of the hands of the Senate's contractor, Cyber Ninjas," the board said in a news release Friday. "The agreement also protects taxpayers and ends a legal dispute over the Senate's ongoing election review by bringing the County into full compliance with outstanding subpoenas."

9. The best way for the GOP to encourage voter confidence is to stop proclaiming un-proven fraud.

If they really want to improve public confidence in the election process the GOP should all get out of politics since they themselves have no faith that fair and open elections will lead to their ascension to absolute power.

This should not be difficult to do since nearly all of them actually are not Republicans, nor are they conservatives. They are White Christian Nationalists and Q-Zealots. It would make things so much clearer in the next election if they would hold their own convention and leave those poor suburban conservatives alone to reform their own pathetic party.

10. Their strategy is to "code talk" to their loony voters to keep them voting - including fraudulently

and make everyone else "suspicious" about voting so they can ensure their little 30% supporter share can control the remaining 70% of normal people.

They have generally chased their suburban supporters away and are left with the rural and small towns in nearly empty counties.

IMO they actually do not belong in American Politics since they despise the Democratic process. I feel they would better belong in Britain among the Aristocrats and Brexiteers.

Here they are a dangerous horde of zombies...

became extinct on 11/8/2016 after a large group disappeared on 11/2/2010.

So I agree that what is left is a dangerous horde of zombies!

you're gonna see the Az Senate dropping bricks. I imagine the ninjas will strike a deal with prosecutors to fink on the Senators.

Probably why such a delay. They're trying to cover their asses. But there's not enough sand even in Az for that to happen. (Unless Merriick and Company are sun blind!)

and all the DOJ does is send you a stern letter that is a message to please proceed.

I repeat;

Title 52 - Voting and Elections - Subtitle I and II;

Ballots, voting systems, and other election materials were no longer in the custody of election officials. Where was our DOJ?
