Coroner: Body of Gabby Petito identified, death officially ruled a homicide

Source: New York Daily News

An autopsy confirmed the body found in a Wyoming nation park two days ago was Gabby Petito, with the cause of her death declared a homicide, officials said Tuesday.

Federal investigators immediately pledged to find the killer in the bizarre case, where the 22-year-old victim’s boyfriend went missing one week ago and remained in the wind. Petito’s body was discovered this past Sunday, weeks after she disappeared while on a cross-country trip with “person of interest” Brian Laundrie.

“The FBI and our partners remain dedicated to ensuring anyone responsible or complicit in Ms. Petito’s death is held accountable for their actions,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael Schneider of the Denver office.

A rueful National Park ranger, weeks after warning Petito about the dangers of a “toxic” relationship with her boyfriend, said she now wonders if a more forceful message was needed when the two crossed paths last month.

The dude was engaged to the girl and appeared to be in love and suddenly he shows up 1000's miles away from where they were without her and with her van and the girl goes missing and says nothing to her family or reports anything..

If they guy is innocent he would have reported her missing.
If the guy is guilty typically he would be lying to cover his ass.

To just not say anything at all is bizarre.

...whose totally unsuspicious activities merely make him a "person of interest," and not suspect #1 in her death. Oh wait...

Shameful!

Boyfriend's body is probably out there somewhere.

Zero beneficial outcome, well, at least the media frenzy will stop.

I live in North Port area. The Media attention and bahaviors of too many people are horrifying and absent of any facts, overcome with opinions. Please consider the pain of all involved.

A Rush to Judgment would mean what?

Brian Laundrie isn't the main suspect?
His parents didn't shelter him and facilitate his disapperance?

What facts are absent, "Recovering Democrat"?

Yes, it is a fact that Laundrie is the main suspect.

Yes, it is a fact that he has disappeared.

No, it is not an established fact that his parents facilitated his disappearance. I suspect that they did, but that is suspicion, not fact.

It is not even established fact that Brian Laundrie killed Gabby Petito. Given their relationship and the police video that I watched, as well as Laundrie's disappearance, I believe that he did murder her. But that is a belief, not an accepted fact yet.

feel a need to be consistent in how they deal with very similar cases.

Be that domestic violence, or murder. Or insurrectionists, or . . . a whole lotta stuffs!
