A U.S. Army combat veteran who is waging a bid against Rep, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) raised more than $1.3 million in the latest quarter, a large haul for the longshot Democratic candidate vying to replace the firebrand freshman Republican.
Marcus Flowers's campaign is set to announce on Tuesday that he raised more than $1.3 million between July and September, leaving him with more than $1 million cash on hand, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Flowers reportedly received donations from more than 162,000 contributors, and at least 110,000 unique donors in all 50 U.S. states have financially supported his campaign.
The candidate said he will use his funds to finance a "big expansion of our in-district paid staff and our in-district volunteer team," according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Good luck.

(13,426 posts)He stands almost no chance to win in the heavily wingnut district so he might as well put that money to good use by slinging as mud as he can with her. He needs to showcase exactly how loony and dangerous she really is.

(6,034 posts)It is highly distressing saying that people are willing to put so much money in a race that possible for a democrat to win.

Kudos to Marcus Flowers

(6,034 posts)However it would be a good idea for Warnock or Abrams if she runs for governor to organize in the area. If you could take a 70-30 Republican area and lose 65-35 instead you'll win reelection.
It's just a silly as Republicans donating millions of dollars to AOC's opponent. Just as much a vanity project for those people as it is for this guy.

(32,778 posts)I think vanity has very little to do with his candidacy..so just dont go there..okay

(19,204 posts)I decided that when he announced his candidacy, and I watched his first video.
She lives in an almost "can't lose" red district, but I can't imagine some aren't sick of her ridiculous bullshit.
She's a definite candidate for "Worst Person in the World".🏆

I feel strongly about pursuing the long shot candidates!

(19,204 posts)kind of guy who won't take any of Empty G's bullshit. She's not running against any Democrat pushover next time. I think he'll appeal to a lot of her macho constituents who don't agree with her "style" of politics (not getting anything done, but flapping her gums 100mph).
I really like the guy!
