-- United Airlines is in the process of terminating 232 employees that haven't received the COVID-19 vaccine.
-- CEO Scott Kirby said that 99.7% of United's 67,000 US employees have been vaccinated.
-- Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order likely won't affect United since nearly all workers are vaccinated.
United Airlines is currently in the process of terminating its remaining US employees that are unvaccinated against COVID-19. A total of 232 employees in the US have chosen not to be vaccinated, CEO Scott Kirby told CBS Mornings, out of the airline's 67,000.
"I wish we would have gotten to 100% but out of our 67,000 US employees, there are 232 who haven't been vaccinated and they are going through the termination process now," Kirby said on Wednesday.
United was the first US airline to mandate vaccines when it announced in August that employees would have until October 25 or five weeks from the first full approval of a COVID-19 vaccine from the Food and Drug Administration, whichever came first. Pfizer's vaccine was given that approval on August 23, starting the clock for United employees.

(22,124 posts)tens of millions, perhaps 100s of millions of shots safe, and if anything, getting the shot(s) ensures that the rest of society is safer as a result.
These thugs do not care about the rest of us. Plain and simple. Tell them to go back to djt and his fellow morons and infect them instead, since it is a death cult.

(22,124 posts)of just how safe this vaccine is (perhaps there are a few side effects, but not very many), and djt and his cronies still are refusing to embrace this serious illness/life saving vaccine, boggles the mind, but anything these thugs harp on now (and other issues in the future) will ensure that they will not have a future voice in the Country since we all see them at their worse, see them being so disregardful of others.

(13 posts)It's really getting old having to make accommodations for the vocal minority of RW brain addled zombies. They always seem to be around and are given an equal voice on just about everything. Usually they are amusingly harmless but in the wake of tRumpism, they have become a danger to our health and democracy.
So leave them behind and move forward. Have them put their money where their mouths are - can't believe they choose to dump their careers in favor of a disinformation peddled by a grifter. Don't give them a bullhorn, just return them to the supermarket tabloids and get on with , oh I don't know...adherence to science and pragmatic, reality based living...like 75% of the country wants.
Good job United...and the other employers that are moving ahead.

Why would you want a parachute?
To save my life.
You refused a vaccine that would save your life.
