Trump-loving sheriff calls for arrest of five Wisconsin elections commissioners

One week after his "extensive investigation" into alleged voter fraud ended with a whimper, a Trump-loving Wisconsin sheriff is calling for the arrest of five members of the state's Elections Commission.
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling is recommending felony charges against three Democrats and two Republicans "because they told clerks to bypass state law during the coronavirus pandemic and send absentee ballots to nursing homes instead of first visiting in person," the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday.

.
Republican Dean Knudson, a Trump supporter who is among the five elections commissioners targeted by Schmaling, said he believes the sheriff is looking for a scapegoat.
"Everything we did was an open, public discussion. And we listened to all sides and all the information and we gave our guidance," Knudson said. "Certain public figures in Wisconsin are under intense pressure to find someone to be the fall guy for Trump's loss in 2020 in Wisconsin."

(1,364 posts)This is the phone number to the Chamber of Commerce in Racine and let them know that you will not vacation in Racine. A lot of Minnesotans (democrats) snowmobile and vacation in Racine.

(25,366 posts)In fact no one vacations in Racine!
Never met anyone who vacations there.
As a matter of fact, I don't think anyone snowmobiles much in Racine, including people who live there!

(25,366 posts)I'm from Wisconsin and have cousins in Racine.
I was from a more rural county myself, and although snowmobiling is popular all over the state, it is more of a rural sport. Racine is a manufacturing "rust belt" type area. The population is declining because industries are leaving.
Why would anyone haul a snowmobile from somewhere else to snowmobile in Racine????
The last time I spent money in Racine, was when I stayed at a motel for my aunt's funeral. It's not an out of town tourist area.
A better option would be to boycott products that are manufactured in Racine:
Johnson's Wax is their largest corporation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._C._Johnson_%26_Son
Modine (radiators) is second. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modine_Manufacturing
Case (tractors) used to be their largest, but it merged with IH and is based in Italy. I don't know if Case still has plants in Racine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Case_Corporation
Racine is the headquarters of a number of industries, including J. I. Case heavy equipment, S. C. Johnson & Son cleaning and chemical products, Dremel Corporation, Reliance Controls Corporation time controls and transfer switches, Twin Disc, and Arthur B. Modine heat exchangers. The Mitchell & Lewis Company, a wagonmaker in the 19th century, began making motorcycles and automobiles as Mitchell-Lewis Motor Company at the start of the 20th century. Racine is also home to InSinkErator, manufacturers of the first garbage disposal.[15] Racine was also historically home to the Horlicks malt factory, where malted milk balls were first developed, and the Western Publishing factory where Little Golden Books were printed. Prominent architects in Racine's history include A. Arthur Guilbert and Edmund Bailey Funston, and the city is home to several works by Frank Lloyd Wright. It has several immigrant communities, and is among the most diverse cities in Wisconsin.[16]
Or better yet, get a group of Democrats together and hold a protest in front of his office. Racine is in the Milwaukee media market and is only 22 miles from Milwaukee. (People in Racine do not like to think of their city as a Milwaukee suburb and it really isn't.

There's more but this - refusing to enforce COVID restrictions - is the easiest way to find them.
This was the first thing I though of. He was on TV in 2020 when he grandstanded and announced he would not enforce Governor Evers indoor mask mandate.
