Jill Biden unveils traditional White House holiday decor

Source: The Hill

First lady Jill Biden on Monday revealed her White House holiday décor and her theme for the season, “Gifts from the Heart.”

The first lady chose symbols to represent gifts that unite Americans together for the annual White House holiday decorations, including faith, family, and friendship, a love of the arts, learning, and nature, gratitude, service, and community, and unity and peace.

“As we celebrate our first holiday season in the White House, we are inspired by the Americans we have met across the country, time and again reminding us that our differences are precious and our similarities infinite,” President Biden and the first lady said in a joint statement.

Red gift boxes lined the East Wing entrance to the White House, where a band played Christmas carols like “Jingle All the Way,” “The First Noel,” and “Joy to the World.”

A lit-up tree is the first decoration when visitors enter the East Wing, decorated with star ornaments with the names of gold star service members on it. The wing is dedicated to gifts of service to honor the military, frontline workers, essential workers, and first responders.

One year had blood-red trees lining the hallway (these were often photoshopped as Handmaids in capes). Another had stark white bare branches making a tunnel and underlit like it was a horror movie.

She hired young ballerinas to perform parts of the Nutcracker dance in the grand foyer...while Malaria Trump stood motionless arms at her side, staring emotionlessly at the ballerinas. This all happened just as the reporters came to tour the decorations.

It was very creepy. Then she had the ballerinas wander silently among the guests as if they were living decorations.

Very weird.

She was brought to New York to meet Donald Trump as a gift from Epstein. Perhaps that sort of party event was a memory. Young girls in costumes "....wander(ing) silently among the guests as if they were living decorations" was kind of his thing.

All kidding aside, though I am not sure I am, her taste was a tacky attempt of avant-guarde.

I just assumed everyone was exposed to and horrified by those holiday decorations, but to learn you never knew gives me a warm feeling that you cannot be alone. Thank the stars that some people were spared this horror.

gift boxes. They look out of place with the rest of the beautiful decorations. I think the thought behind them is wonderful. Maybe if they were smaller?

They make me think of "counting blessings." But, the first thought I had was, what's holding them up, and the guard guy below should be wearing a mask disguised as a beard. We should have that going. A white beard mask.

Decency and caring have returned to the White House. Every time I think of the last 4 years, which is as little as possible, I want to throw up. So nice to have stability return, not a raging lunatic who ultimately tried to over throw the government.
