White House will commemorate Jan. 6 anniversary, Psaki says

Source: The Hill

The White House intends to commemorate the anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, though specifics are still in the works, press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Tuesday.

"I don’t have anything to report to you at this point in time about our plans," Psaki said.

"Jan. 6 was one of the darkest days in our democracy," she continued. "It was a day when our nation's capital was under attack and I think there's no question you'll see us commemorate that day."

Biden has regularly referred to the insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6 as a dark day in the nation's history, and he has praised the courage of law enforcement officers who worked to secure the building that day.

During the commemoration, Democrats need to hammer home the fact that Republicans including Trump were complicit and are still trying to subvert our democracy. They're busy rigging elections so they can steal the House and Senate and eventually have the power to appoint a dictator.
