Source: WJLA

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (7News) — Prince George's County Public Schools will move to virtual learning through Jan. 18. PGCPS will close buildings Monday, Dec. 20 and move to virtual learning for three days ahead of their winter break which will start on Thursday, Dec. 23.

7News' Brad Bell reports schools will remain in virtual learning through Jan. 14. They will return in person on Jan. 18, following Martin Luther King, Jr. day.

Three county schools returned to remote learning Wednesday after coronavirus outbreaks were reported in multiple classrooms, including Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Bowie, Kettering Middle and the EXCEL Public Charter school.

That impacted the number of teachers available and the number of students in quarantine.
