The European Union has drawn up plans to label some natural gas and nuclear energy projects as "green" investments after a year-long battle between governments over which investments are truly climate-friendly.

i believe this is a good thing, it is time to spend money to upgrade to current technology that is more clean rather than going back to coal plant or dangerous old nuclear plants that is still using 20 years old tech

1. Surely I'll get an argument

but the cleanest tech is the lowest tech - passive solar and bio fuel (because bio is rotting and releasing slowly anyway). Passive solar - capture the sun, no or very low maintenance, no electrical replacements). Sadly these technologies have been known for 50 years or more. Passive solar - windows and doors, masonry mass to store heat, window overhang for summer shade and winter light. Plus nowadays you can add super insulation - 6" walls, foam R-values, vapor barriers, heat exchangers, wood backup, retracting shades.

Now an expert is anyone who accesses the internet.

5. I did my senior science project on solar energy in May 1961.

Many people congratulated me on my project said it was very good, but then was back when people were courteous.

4. Gas Is Not Green, IMO...

If it puts out CO2 as a byproduct, that’s definitely not what I would consider a “green” energy source. Granted, it puts off way less CO2 than coal or gasoline, or other fossil fuels, but still.

... and probably our world civilization as well.

Gas is the most dangerous energy source in common use, largely because people think it's "green" and their renewable energy fantasies are not viable without it.

Nuclear power is a much less dangerous technology in comparison. With the human population approaching eight billion nuclear power is the only energy technology capable of displacing fossil fuels entirely.

I used to be a hard core anti-nuclear activist. I'm not anymore.
