A big part of success in life is recognizing friends/family that are dead weight and learning how to effectively compartmentalize them.

Hopefully for Adams and NYC, this person either has untapped potential, or the role is one that won't permit them to cause much damage.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and cut him some slack, but the stories aren't looking promising. I think we could be looking at a one term mayor, if this keeps up.

WNYC, the public radio for here, just played a clip of him "defending" his choice. Here's what he said: I put my brother in there because I trust him. If my life is going to be on the line, I want someone I can trust."

Does this man just realize that he said to the entire NYC police force that he doesn't trust any of them but he trusts his brother.

It's going from bad to worse.

on edit:

check this out:

snip

Adams’ brother, a 56-year-old retired NYPD sergeant, was recently listed as a deputy commissioner on the NYPD roster, according to internal documents obtained by The Post on Friday.

Bernard Adams — currently assistant director for parking at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he’s worked since 2011, according to his LinkedIn profile — confirmed to The Post that he is set to oversee governmental affairs, in a civilian position that typically comes with a salary of around $242,000.

snip

Assistant director for parking at Virginia Commonwealth University?

Assistant director?

Probably pays around $30k a year. Not bad: going from such a position to $242,000.

This freaking bu@#$#sh@#$ should not be allowed.

is only the beginning...Are we going to see a New York mayor indicted of fraud in the near future? So far he looks more like a trump than anything else.

... not ready to give up on the mayor - but I would not have put a sibling in an important position. This will only give Tuckums and his ilk something to crow about... they will LOVE deflecting from their divine leader's behavior with all manner of "A-ha!" This will fuel their anti-Democrat Mayor blitz.

Both the mayor and his appointees thus far are in wayyyyyyy over their heads. This won't just be corruption it will also be terrible city management for New Yorkers of every class.

IMO Mayor Adams hasn't got a clue how hard the job of running the city really is and has replaced functional policy with attitude and sound bites.
