(8,053 posts)I'm a 10 minute drive from the ocean here in Redondo Beach. I'm not sure my neighbors and I would pull through. I just looked it up and I'm 2.6 miles from the beach.
My closest friends live in Long Beach, Laguna Niguel, Venice, and Playa del Rey. I think they're in danger too.
I have several close friends who live in the valley....

(1,242 posts)I live across the street from the bay in Marin county, California.
We already live in a flood zone, so I am concerned.
Keep safe everyone!

I am in Point Richmond now, but I used to live in Mill Valley...when the King Tides hit, sometimes the flooding prevented me from getting to work.

(1,242 posts)The streets near the Loch Lomond area in San Rafael tend to flood during heavy rain.
The local news has said for Marin, there is still an advisory warning.
Stay safe!

(4,890 posts)The first waves were supposed to start about 8:30am, and last for 3 hours. We have high tide in about an hour. I live on the entrance to Yaquina bay, so nothing unusual yet, but do see some larger than average white breakers at the bay entrance.
The jetty road to the ocean is blocked off, but lots of surfers and fishermen are lined up eager to get out there.
Here's a webcam (you have to turn off adblockers to view).
