Obama leads by 5 in Wisconsin and Iowa

Source: Public Policy Polling

New Public Policy Polling surveys in Wisconsin and Iowa, conducted on behalf of Health Care for America Now, find Barack Obama leading by 5 points in each state. In Iowa the spread is 50/45, representing a 3 point increase in Obama’s advantage compared to a week ago. In Wisconsin he’s at 51% to Mitt Romney’s 46%, almost identical to 51/45 on the previous poll.

-Obama has a 7 point lead with independent voters in each state, 47/40 in Iowa and 50/43 in Wisconsin.

-A majority of voters in each state has a favorable opinion of Obama, 50/46 in Iowa and 52/46 in Wisconsin. Meanwhile Romney draws negative reviews in each at 46/51 in Iowa and 47/49 in Wisconsin.

-Obama has a wide advantage over Romney on two key issues in each state. Voters trust him more than Romney to stand up for the middle class by a 52/45 margin in Iowa and a 52/46 one in Wisconsin. And they trust him more to protect Medicare as well, 50/43 in Iowa and 52/44 in Wisconsin.

The polls are a lot more accurate than people think, and Obama has many ways to get to 270. Romney has almost none.

Don't worry. It's actually getting worse for Romney.

We have already overcome most of the suppression efforts related to voter ID.

Unbelievable GOTV efforts are moving fantastic numbers through early voting, which side-steps the organized voter intimidation efforts planned for election day.

We still have the problem of outright vote rigging. We know for certain that there has been substantial vote rigging in recent elections in Florida, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The nice thing about this final surge is that we have a big buffer against vote rigging. We should have 52% - 53% in a lot of these states, which is probably beyond the vote rigging threshold. And we also should have enough extra electoral votes even if vote rigging does steal one of those states.

But folks, after this election, we really have to get active in fighting election fraud. We must insist on 100% auditable ballots nationwide.

we should have the source code open, and make sure they have the same standards ,a way to avoid these problems is vote by mail with the security system they used in california. and party id must be on ballots.

Three vital states.

Quin. saying PA is pretty much over. And a SUSA poll came out showing Obama up 7 in MN. And I'm not worried in the least about MI regardless of that Det News poll showed.

I think cautious optimism may be in order. Maybe - but then again, I am ever the pessimist.

Romney needs Iowa and Wisconsin to have any chance of winning when he loses Ohio.

unless there is a lot of voter disruptions in blue districts, such as long lines (on purpose), teabaggers harassing voters etc.
