Florida bill to shield people from feeling 'discomfort' over historic actions

Source: CNN

(CNN)A bill backed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis that would prohibit Florida's public schools and private businesses from making people feel "discomfort" or "guilt" based on their race, sex or national origin received first approval Tuesday by the state's Senate Education Committee.

The Republican-controlled committee approved the bill with six Republican senators in favor of the bill and three Democratic senators opposed to it.

Although the bill, named "Individual Freedom," does not mention Critical Race Theory, the term is used in the attached bill analysis that was given to senators.

DeSantis also referred to CRT when he announced the proposed legislation at a media event in December, saying the proposed law would help keep CRT out of the schools and out of the workplace, calling it "state-sanctioned racism" that creates a "hostile work environment."

Sue the NRA, gun manufacturers and DeSantis for turning Florida into a shooting gallery.

I remember an incident from a few years ago when white parents called the cops because two Native American boys were participating in a college tour and the parents decided that they had no right to be there. Those boys could use this type of law to sue the parents. This could be an excellent way to turn the tables on the snowflake Republicans who melt at the mere mention of topics like Jim Crow, the KKK, and white attacks on black communities, as in Tulsa.

They don't want to teach history because they WANT TO REPEAT IT.
American racists are in shock that the filthy murders of Ahmaud Arbery were arrested, tried and convicted. The racist are pissing their pants. No way would that happen in the good old days.
How are they suppose to control minorities if they can't kill a few now and then.
Americans must speak up.

But there are many times we've been told not to say this or that due to hurtfulness to POC. But at least no one put it in a law.

Nobody today was part of the history, so all people should learn to deal with it without it being a personally uncomfortable thing.

'Cause some people make the Germans sound like the bad guys in that slice of history.

Oh, and the DNA analysis says I'm 10% English. So I guess no teaching me about the American Revolution. If you start calling King George III a tyrant, it might hurt 10% of my feelings.
