Wuhan Lab Leak Theory Undermined as New Research Points to Wet Market

Source: Newsweek

New research points to a Wuhan market in China as the origin of the pandemic, further undermining claims that the coronavirus originated in a lab.

The idea that the virus originated in a market has long been the leading theory among the scientific community, but some have still insisted the virus was man-made and leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Two new research studies released on Saturday further backs up the market theory.

One of the studies used spatial analysis to show that the earliest known cases of COVID-19 were located near the market. It found that positive environmental samples were "strongly associated" with vendors selling live animals including raccoon dogs.

"Together, these analyses provide dispositive evidence for the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 via the live wildlife trade and identify the Huanan market as the unambiguous epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic," the study said.

1. This whole pandemic thing is playing out like the movie 'Contagion'

It came around 2011, and used historical pandemics as a guide for how the movie played out...and it's eerie how true to life it was once covid hit us.

I highly recommend it, as it shows how easy a disease can cause chaos.

8. Do not forget the once most abundant protein...insects.

[link:https://gardenculturemagazine.com/getting-protein-by-eating-insects/|

Consumed by around two billion people, insects are seen by many as an environmentally-friendly alternative to red meat consumption. Prevalent in the traditional cultures of many populations in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, entomophagy – a term referring to eating insects – is starting to generate interest in Europe and North America.

It is in this spirit that insect farming is emerging in many places across these continents. The primary insects being raised by these start-up companies are black soldier flies, Buffalo worms, crickets, locusts, and mealworms.

Personally the only way I could eat bugs is if they were ground up and filtered as protein powder because the legs and tenacles and antennae would make me lose my appetite...but I have more than a few extra pounds to lose, so that might not be so bad for me overall...

On a more serious note, though - The fact that no one discusses the on-going collapse of the insect population should be alarming to all...

[link:https://www.wamc.org/2022-02-24/the-worlds-insect-population-is-in-decline-and-thats-bad-news-for-humans]

Habitat loss, pesticides and climate change are threatening insect populations worldwide. In 2019, Biological Conservation reported that 40% of all insects species are declining globally and that a third of them are endangered.

And while it may sound nice to live in a world with fewer roaches, environmental writer Oliver Milman says that human beings would be in big trouble without insects. That's because insects play critical roles in pollinating plants we eat, breaking down waste in forest soil and forming the base of a food chain that other, larger animals — including humans — rely upon.

"It would be an extremely dire place to live in — and certainly not something we should ever aim for," Milman says of an insect-free existence. "You would certainly have mass starvation [and] societal unrest ..... It'd be a place where there would be rotting feces and corpses everywhere because dung beetles and other insects that break down those materials would be gone."

Just an article in the very non science Newsweek which grabs a couple of quotes. Where are these studies published -- if they were? Were they peer reviewed?

The bigger questions are why China has refused to cooperate in any international investigation. And they have kept the lab completely off limits while floating a CT the U.S. military secretly came in and released the virus.

As it states in the article:

Michael Worobey, who is a co-author on both studies, tweeted: "We found that cases in December were both nearer to, and more centered on, the Huanan market than could be expected given either the population density distribution of Wuhan, or the spatial distribution of COVID cases later in the the epidemic. Its epicenter was at the market."

A quick search for Michael Worobey on Twitter gets you his pinned tweet with the link to the study.

China has been uncooperative because they are a secretive dictatorship and don't want to be blamed for the virus. Blaming it on the wet market is still blaming China. China would prefer to blame the West with some bullshit CT. China has so much in common with Republicans.

The simplest answer is once again the most likely one...

Where did it originate? China.
Was it intentional? No.
Was it hidden by a secretive police state and its authoritarian leaders, including to this day? Yes.
Is that really surprising to anyone? Apparently...but incorectly.

JFK is still dead.
So is JFK Jr.
Trump STILL lost.
The sun WILL rise in the east and set in the west today....unless Fauci has anything to do with it!

We live in a weird time, no doubt about it.
