Pence to GOP: Stop 'fighting yesterday's battles'
Source: The Hill.com
Former Vice President Mike Pence in a speech Friday night will call on Republicans to move beyond "relitigating" the 2020 election as the GOP hopes to flip both chambers of Congress this November.
Pence, in an address to the party's donors, will say Republicans can only win if we are united around an optimistic vision for the future based on our highest values.
We cannot win by fighting yesterdays battles, or by relitigating the past, hell add, according to prepared remarks. Republicans can only win by offering real, lasting solutions to the problems Democrats have created for the American people.
The stance again puts him squarely at odds with former President Trump, who has repeatedly asserted unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud and irregularities in the 2020 race.

Only problem, Mikey, is that your party adores low values.

(27,451 posts)That would mean the GOP would have to put forward actual goals and policies. Much easier to continue promoting the Big Lie.

(33 posts)The problems democrats created are wanting diversity, equality for all people, the right for all people to vote, affordable healthcare, an educated population, which would strengthen a real solid democracy. Republicans cannot have that to exist.

(6,182 posts)The Republicans haven't offered a "real, lasting solution" to a problem for decades.
They have created real lasting problems that will be around for decades, but no solutions.

(2,146 posts)"let's ignore the damage Trump and his ilk have done to America and the GOP and go blithely forward, in hopes they won't sneak up on us and bite us in the butt."
What he is really saying is they he wants to sweep Trump's crimes under the rug and not prosecute him for attempting a coup, and a hundred more crimes he committed (WITH THE HELP OF THE GOP) while in office.
