Zelenskyy Says The West's Sanctions On Russia Are Insufficient
Source: Huffington Post
In a video statement Sunday evening, Zelenskyy heaped criticism on Western leaders for not responding to the Russian Defense Ministrys announcement that it would strike Ukraines military-industrial complex, while telling employees of these defense plants not to go to work.
I didnt hear even a single world leader react to this, Zelenskyy said. The audacity of the aggressor is a clear signal to the West that the sanctions imposed on Russia are not sufficient.
Zelenskyy called for organizing a tribunal to bring to justice those who order and carry out such crimes.
Think about the sense of impunity of the occupiers that they can announce such planned atrocities, he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced Sunday that its forces intend to strike Ukraines military-industrial complex with what it said were precision weapons.

(8,020 posts)way to stop pooty other than NATO attacking Russia unless Ukraine can wear down the invaders long enough to get the upper hand but if that happens I think pooty would use tactical nukes to get the job done before he would ever lose his first war imho.

Seeing war on tv 24/7 makes us more anxious to get it over and done.

(9,958 posts)The UN sends in peacekeeping forces usually after the fighting has ended, but if the UN has sent in significant peacekeeping forces before the attack, would Putin still have attacked? Those UN forces are made up of soldiers from many different countries, and an attack on them would have been an attack on NATO. Im not Putin would have attacked.

(31,947 posts)For the UN to send in peacekeepers would require Security Council approval. Russia and China would have vetoed it.

(33,252 posts)I can't really blame him for saying NATO needs to do more. A no-fly zone would help Ukraine immensely; but NATO planes engaging Russian planes is an escalation that Putin will have to respond to. He's already rattling his nuclear sabres as it is.
It's different when they have Nukes.

(51,569 posts)to save lives, time and money in the long run. What we are doing isn't enough. We have to act now to nip it in the bud. Putin will move into other countries if he sees us as weak, which he does. This will get bigger, deadlier and go on for years if we are not strong now. I've been listening to military and political people with experience and they pretty much are saying the same thing this weekend. Opinions have changed over the past 2 weeks.

(63,803 posts)needs to be stopped, and of course oil runs through Putin's veins. As far as those MIG's going to Ukraine, I thought Poland and the US are working out a deal, and the US will sell aircraft to Poland to replace Poland's supply.
But time is ticking, Ukrainians are feeling the brunt of this. Russians who are NOT being fed propaganda are protesting, and Russian resources are drying up. Putin is stabbing both Ukraine and Russia. We all know Putin is megalomaniac.
But this whole situation is on Putin.
