(16,886 posts)That is a very significant loss and 22 times more than what Russia is telling
THREE Russian commanders have been killed in recent fighting in Ukraine, with Z-marked tanks left abandoned during a stalled siege.
It comes as Ukrainian forces have recaptured Chuhuiv with defence officials claiming they have inflicted heavy losses on the Russian army.

(1,832 posts)... the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confused the General with another Gerasimov. It was Stanislav Gerasimov, a junior sergeant from Tatarstan, who died.

(6,911 posts)This military operation stinks, Russian GRU intelligence bungled the rollout and facts on the field wont allow them to run stories of victory anywhere but on Russian-controlled media.
Its what happens when an ex-KGB spy tricks his way to the top and masquerades as a military generalhe cant explain away the dead Russian soldiers returning home.
