Random People Start Seizing Properties Belonging to Russian Oligarchs and Putin's Daughter

Source: thedailybeast.com

A protester broke into Katerina Tikhonova’s villa in Biarritz and a group in London took over a mansion linked to Oleg Deripaska. They want to open them up to Ukrainian refugees.

As Vladimir Putin continues his senseless onslaught on Ukraine, his opponents continue to chip away at the fortunes he, his family and his cronies have amassed.

Activists have grown restless waiting for the authorities to seize some of their assets and have taken the matter into their own hands in London and the south of France.

Pierre Afner, who has been documenting Russian riches in the French resort enclave of Biarritz for years, was arrested on Monday for breaking into the lavish seaside Alta Mira villa belonging to Putin’s daughter Katerina Tikhonova. There he found documents including copies of Russian passports belonging to Tikhonova and her wealthy ex-husband Kirill Shamalov, son of Nikolai Shamalov, one of Putin’s oldest and dearest friends—both sanctioned by the U.S. since 2018.

Afner also found a vast array of bizarre decorations, including fake songbirds in a gilded cage and rare art, in addition to books in Russian. He posted the treasure trove on his Facebook page just hours before police took him into custody Monday morning.

of cheap rubles to be stashed away when The WestRich invite The Money back in.

The yachts and mansions and real estate were the guarantee against Putin starting a war…couldn’t go to war without the assistance of The WestRich first.

Not to mention British elite football teams, etc. Etc…the charities TheRich set up give them the illusion of having a soul.

Ukrainians should be as enraged by The West monsters as the obvious monsters..

The US is a particularly great place to invest in property if your own country's currency is weak. That impacts the value of housing, offices, etc., to the detriment of US citizens wanting to own a home who instead end up paying high rent to some damn oligarch, investment firm, corporation, etc.

I'm beginning to think we need to get rid of truckload of folks frankly. Very few of our national elected officials over the past 45 years have truly had the best interests of the average American at heart. The proof is in the record. Make sure everyone can have a flat panel screen and cell phone, but to hell with affordable housing and health care.

GHWB's Peace Dividend never materialized, IC budgets were cut, why did everyone think that secret Soviet society would become peaceful friendly international capitalists like ours? Or aren't ours so friendly either? We enabled this mess, through lazy think-tanking and lax oversight. Freedom is not a natural state, you have to work at it.

Extreme social stratification is a threat to national security and future generations. The best way to deal with it is to use taxation to prevent accumulation vast wealth. The wealthy have hijacked governments and reduced their own tax burdens. That needs to be reversed.

The problem differs in different countries, especially where corruption allows diversion of public money into private hands and favored treatment of the powerful. In such instances seizures of ill-gotten gains might be appropriate, but getting that sort of legislation is very difficult.
