Voter intimidation concerns hit Wyoming
Source: Star-Tribune
Two brothers who own a chain of restaurants in Wyoming warned of canceled health insurance for managers, reduced hours for full-time employees and massive layoffs if President Barack Obama is re-elected and the Affordable Care Act remains intact.
Tim and Rob Woodward say theyre not the only proprietors to do so.
The Woodwards own Bagelmakers and Subway restaurants in Wyoming and Colorado. Tim lives in Laramie and Rob in Loveland, Colo. They presented a possible bleak future for their 41-restaurant chain and 341 employees in an op-ed piece published in the Laramie Boomerang, Oct. 24. Citing decreased earnings and minimal job growth if the ACA stands, the Woodwards vowed to terminate a majority of their employees by 2014, predicted more than $600,000 in penalties per year and expected to liquidate two-thirds of their restaurants because of additional costs if Obama wins Tuesdays election.
The Woodwards support Republican candidate Mitt Romney and want the ACA repealed.

Some Laramie residents have organized to boycott businesses owned by Tim Woodward, a local restaurant franchise owner.
Last week, Woodward and his brother Rob the Woodwards operate franchises in Wyoming and Colorado wrote an open letter in the Laramie Boomerang, saying they told employees that if President Obama is re-elected and the Affordable Care Act stands, he will be forced to cut hours and benefits to employees.
Will Welch, an administrator for the Facebook group Say No to Voter Intimidation Food, called the letter craven and unnecessary.

(12,228 posts)Making sure they have something to blame on the election when they go out of business.
To boycotters: Let us get away with our intimidation tactics or we will have to close! I wish they would include themselves personally jumping off a bridge tied to a thousand pounds of unsold frozen food.

(1,351 posts)These 2 jerkoffs can close up shop and go to work at Mall-Wart where they won't be "hit so hard" by trying times. All of their employees will find work from other employers eager to hire in the coming months/years.

(11,364 posts)... somebody new will be selling those sandwiches, and employing just as many people doing so. If those employees can actually get medical care when they need it, it's an advantage to both the employees and the customers.
It makes me hope they will go out of business.

(12,287 posts)So even if the employees do vote for Rmoney or just don't vote and Obama wins anyway...they're screwed anyway.I wonder if Subway and Bagelmakers have franchise agreements that state they have to protect the name of the franchise from controversy since I'm thinking of emailing the Subway central office and asking them if they support this.

These dick-wads won't know who any of their employees will vote for. They possibly pissed off so many of their employees that now the employees will be sure to vote against the Mittster.
