RI Gov. Chafee campaigning for Obama, former Senate colleague, in Pennsylvania, Virginia

PROVIDENCE, R.I — Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY’fee) is hitting the road this weekend to help with President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
Chafee is campaigning for the president’s re-election in Pennsylvania on Saturday and in Virginia on Sunday.
Chafee, an independent, also spoke on Obama’s behalf at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. last summer.
Chafee, a former Republican, served in the U.S. Senate with Obama. He left the GOP in 2007 and crossed party lines to back the then-senator during his 2008 White House run.
