Bush, Clinton visit Ukrainian church in Chicago to lay flowers

Source: The Hill

Former Presidents George W. Bush and Clinton visited a Ukrainian church in Chicago on Friday, laying down flowers in a show of solidarity with the nation.

A video shared by the George W. Bush Presidential Center shows the 42nd and 43rd presidents each carrying yellow sunflowers wrapped in blue and yellow cloth to represent the Ukrainian flag.

The presidents placed the flowers outside of the Saints Volodymyr and Olha Catholic Church in Chicago, which is home to one of the largest Ukrainian populations in the U.S., ABC 7 Chicago reported.

Chicago is considered a sister city to Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. The Ukrainian Village, where Bush and Clinton visited, has deep and historic roots for the Ukrainian population, according to the Ukrainian National Museum.

But it funny. Bush invaded Iraq based upon lies just like Putin invaded Ukraine based on lies. So I guess it's alright for us to invade another sovereign country while Russia cannot?

I said that it was apparently alright according to Bush when he did it but not alright now when Putin did it. That's hypocrisy. And in my case I believe that it was wrong both times.

In Russia, everyone in charge knows there is no real reason to invade other than to try to absorb & control UKR.
With Iraq, we were given false intel & many of our politicians believed it.
I never backed that war regardless, because we already had Saddam in a box & he kept Iran at bay. If he really DID start developing anything serious, we'd simply destroy it
NOW look at that area.

When Bush invaded Iraq it was his responsibility, not Cheney's. When you are president the buck stops with you. Bush was just as wrong then as Putin is now.

Or that they're "rescuing" the country. They just know what happens if they speak up.

You are correct that the buck stops with the President. I'm the one putting the blame with the architect of the whole fraud; but bush SHOULD have dug deeper. . Many democrats voted for the Iraq war too. They were played with false intel. Colin Powell knows it. Hillary knows it and the rest. Bush knows he was played. Thats why the two have never been together since.

many years ago. Great place to live and wonderful people to have as neighbors! Drove by Saints Volodymyr and Olha Catholic Church and St. Nicholas Cathedral many times. I do miss it.

I learned that Stephen Colbert lived in Ukrainian Village in the late '90's. That was after my time there, but was surprised to hear him mention this on his show.

She's just down the block from that church. We visited it last July.
