Putin loses ANOTHER top commander: Black Sea Fleet captain, 51, is ‘shot dead near Mariupol’ in latest hammer blow for invading troops

Ukraine claimed today that its forces had shot dead the deputy commander of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in another significant blow to Vladimir Putin's forces.

First rank captain Andrey Paliy, 51, is the only senior naval officer allegedly killed in the war in Ukraine, although Kyiv claims to have slain five army generals.

Paliy's death appeared to be confirmed by a Russian friend, Konstantin Tsarenko, secretary of the public council of the Sevastopol Nakhimov Naval School, although it has not been officially acknowledged by Moscow.

One account said that he had been involved with Russian marines attacks near Mariupol.

I grabbed a photo of a CNN graphic showing FIVE Russian generals who'd been killed, as recently as this morning (9:30-ish):

Major General Andriy Kolesnikov
Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky
Major General Vitaly Gerasimov
Major General Oleg Mityaev
Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev

So this latest news adds a new name to the list. Not a general, though. First Rank Captain Andrey Paliy is the newest casualty. According to the OP, he's the only senior naval officer allegedly killed in the war in Ukraine so far, a commander of the Black Sea fleet. Not a general, though, so there is that.

IIRC, Canadian? , could hit target 2 miles out. Anyway, he volunteered in Ukraine.
I wonder?

local cellular system (4G-LTE) to back haul the data (voice) to other units.

What is the first thing an invading army does? Knocks out the targets communications systems..

The Russian army then had to use unencrypted communications systems.

The FSB security service allegedly handed him intelligence suggesting that Ukraine was weak, riddled with neo-Nazi groups, and would give up easily if attacked.

An FSB whistleblower indicated that they were under pressure to give Putin info that he wanted to hear.

You are basically forced to give Putin the false "good news" to keep your job, your life. But when the incorrect info turns out to be correct (Ukrainians are going to fight back) you are also to blame. It's a lose/lose situation for the generals and advisors.

Those guys don't want information that doesn't conform to their world view.

Look at Dolt45 for the closest example we've ever had to one: He only hired yes-men, too. Anyone who had the temerity to give conflicting world view information or do/did something Dolt didn't like, he fired him/her - even those he didn't directly hire (see Yates, Sally; Seshuns, Jeffahson Boe-ree-gahd, Tha Thuhrd (R-KKK); Yovanovitch, Marie; Vindman, Lt. Col. Alexander; multiple inspectors general, et al).
