Shanghai Disneyland closes as virus rises, Shenzhen reopens

Source: AP

By JOE McDONALD

BEIJING (AP) — Shanghai Disneyland closed Monday as China’s most populous city tried to contain its biggest coronavirus flareup in two years, while the southern business center of Shenzhen allowed shops and offices to reopen after a weeklong closure.

Meanwhile, the cities of Changchun and Jilin in the northeast began another round of citywide virus testing following a surge in infections. Jilin tightened anti-disease curbs, ordering its 2 million residents to stay home.

China’s case numbers in its latest infection wave are low compared with other major countries, but authorities are enforcing a “zero tolerance” strategy that has suspended access to some major cities.

The government reported 2,027 new cases on the Chinese mainland on Sunday, up from the previous day’s 1,737. That included 1,542 infections in Jilin province, where Changchun and Jilin are located.

But in countries like the US, that wasn't possible so Omicron washed over the country and gave people some immunity that way.

Now the new B.A.2 Omicron variant started taking hold in the US about a month ago, but it doesn't seem to be causing a spike in hospitalization yet, so maybe it's not going to. We'll see, but the first B.A.2 cases popped up about 5 weeks ago and if this were like Omicron we'd be in a surge already, cases are nearing last Summer's lows.

The thing is, if you look at things brutally honestly, right now this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. 90%+ of the hospitalizations and deaths are unvaccinated idiots, the other several % are people with other serious health problems (Not just being overweight.) Also, each country had different responses and different levels of compliance to preventative measures. If getting vaxxed means that I won't take up a hospital bed, I can totally live with it if 100% of the dead and dying were totally unvaxxed idiots. But this small group of people who did everything right and are still getting really sick are still worth protecting. But let's look at the numbers the CDC provides, if 1,000 people die, 920 of them were totally unvaxxed, another 60 of them were partially vaxxed or vaxxed and not boosted, only 20 of them are vaxxed and boosted, and this group is probably the ones with serious serious health problems to begin with. Relatively health people (even with several comorbidities) if fully vaxxed and boosted simply aren't dying anymore. In short, let the unvaxxed die, the country will be better off without them.

Since they can't show the numbers of covid deaths have a lot of vaccinated people, its gone to "all the heart issues, blood clots, etc" that we vaxed people supposedly get. And yes, it DOES happen. But not anywhere near the level the anti-vaxxers say it does. And every medicine gives some people serious side effects. Just not enough to stop it.

But in China, haven't they pretty much MADE everyone get the shot? Especially in the cities?

That's exactly what they are being told, that the vaccines kill more people than Covid. What they're being told on FOX and other sources is that if anyone who is vaccinated dies of Covid, it counts as a death from the vaccine. Like it was the vaccine and not Covid that killed them.

This is where they are coming from. It's totally false, and harmful. Reactions to the vaccine have killed very few people world wide, the number is miniscule. Just because a full vaccinated person dies from Covid doesn't mean the vaccine played any role in their death.
