Russia accused of genocide Civilians 'abducted and taken to camps'

Russia was accused of war crimes and genocide against Ukraine last night as fighting in the besieged city of Mariupol reached a new intensity.

Rescue teams searched the rubble of a school that was bombed by Russian forces while fighting reached the city centre. The rescuers were still trying to free hundreds of people trapped under a theatre that was hit by an airstrike last week when the school was struck.

The school is believed to have been sheltering about 400 people. It is not known how many were killed or injured. Olha Stefanishyna, a deputy prime minister, said she believed that genocide was being committed .....................

…the very definition of war crimes.

I cringed when I saw the report last week that they had “children” painted on the roof of the theater that got bombed. As if that would have made Russia think twice. That was like issuing an engraved invite for death.

Will Putin ever be made to answer for this? Some days, I truly wonder.

Since it is so rare I guess they don’t worry about it. They let the people on the ground pay.

that the Russian military has the manpower and resources to do this. Sounds like they are barely taking care of their soldiers.

If Ukranians really saw Russia as their “liberator,” there would be no need to forcibly move them east. Nor would they be fighting. Russia would be welcomed as such.

I agree — for someone who claims to be ridding Ukraine of Nazis, Putin sure seems to be taking a lot of strategies from the Nazi playbook.
