Russia's combat force has shrunk, a Pentagon official says, reflecting casualties and other struggle

Source: New York Times

The Pentagon has assessed that Russia’s “combat power” in Ukraine — comprising more than 150,000 troops massed in Belarus and western Russian prior to the invasion — has dipped below 90 percent of its original force for the first time, reflecting the losses Russian troops have suffered at the hands of Ukrainian soldiers.

A senior defense official, who was not authorized to discuss details of Russia’s actions in Ukraine publicly, said Tuesday morning that Russian forces were “struggling on many fronts,” including routine supply lines and logistics, and that the Pentagon had seen indications that some Russian troops had been evacuated because of frostbite.

show up, see that Ukraine surrendered, suppress pockets of resistance, and then stick around for a while to enforce compliance with regime change. Logistics etc. weren't all that important under that plan. Basically what they did in 2014 in Crimea. It didn't pan out for them this time, LOL.

I am sure they could defend, but that isn't exactly their mission.

I have to wonder what that 10% counts. From all the numbers being thrown about, that seems low if it includes all of the dead, wounded, captured, deserted, or otherwise MIA.

I imagine their supplies look awfully dim at this point, too.

MAN! It does appear the Joe Biden and NATO are within striking distance of a check-mate on Putin. Just need for him to fucking disappear off the face of the earth.
