ACLU sues DHS, says Muslim Americans questioned about faith at border

Source: The Hill

Three U.S. citizens filed a federal lawsuit on Thursday in the United States District Court for the Central District of California alleging they have been subjected to "unconstitutional questioning" from border officials about their religion.

The American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Minnesota and the ACLU Foundation of Southern California filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of three Muslim Americans who say they have been asked "inappropriate religious questions," including "whether they are Muslim, whether they attend a mosque, which mosque they attend, whether they are Sunni or Shi'a, and how often they pray."

They say the questions have been asked on multiple occasions when the plaintiffs came home from traveling abroad.

"By targeting plaintiffs for religious questioning merely because they are Muslim...border officers stigmatize them for adhering to a particular faith and condemn their religion as subject to suspicion and distrust," the lawsuit said.

These particular DHS employees are likely all Nazis, white supremacists, mass shooters*, and RW insurrectionists.

*Maybe not literally mass shooters but I'm sure they have massive wet dreams about taking out scores of Muslims and other non-white/non-Chrisitans.

Most of them have no idea what Muslims/Arabs/Middle Eastern people look like so they screen for brown and catch mostly Indians, Ethiopians, etc..

A lot of them look white. I had an Iraqi woman argue with me that she's white and use the US Census designation as proof. Sure enough, the US Census classifies everyone from Morocco to Afghanistan as white.

their invasive questions as an American citizen.

"Where do you live?" - the passport says I'm an American citizens
"How long were you in Mexico?" - none of your business
"What were you doing in Mexico?" - none of your business
"Where are you going?" - Home
"Where is home?" - (points north) That way

I answer two questions at the border. "Are you an American citizen?" - My passport says I am. "Are you bringing anything back from Mexico?" - (holds up my bag) Yes.

Other than that, the CBP can go pound sand. I actually asked one "If I tell you where I live, will you come for Sunday dinner and bring beer? If not, you have no reason to know where I live."

And since they cannot legally deny an American citizen re-entry into their own country, pulling me into secondary is a power play.

I never bite. But I did get yelled at once by a female CBP officer that I was "racist" for asking her if she was American having a hispanic last name and was then told "why is it Americans cause all the problems here?" I responded "Because we're American and our rights don't disappear at a border nazi checkpoint even though you would like that to happen."

I got a very angry glare.
